I didn't mean to imply that all psychologists are drug-pushers.

i took both, respidal and either prozac or paxil for depression when i was a teeager, basically they both sucked. i only took the anti-depressant because i was a well behaved young man and did almost everything my mom wanted me to growing up. the respidal i was allergic to for some reason and had a horrible reaction to it in the mental hospital, wich finally sealed the deal. i'll never take meds for a mental problem

Well I take Citelopram (an SSRI) and I'm so glad I do because it really improves my anxiety. I don't take it for the Asperger's, I take it for the ANXIETY that is the result of Asperger's. Without this drug, I'd find it 10 times more difficult to get through the day. Not all psychiatrists push drugs down people. My psychiatrist was reluctant to put me on anything, I had to beg him to put me on anti depressants.

Hey, I take Risperidone! And yeah, I don't think it really does anything for me either. But on the other hand, I have gone off of it a couple of times, once experimentally and once accidentally, and my body/mind went berserk. Then again, I have some major tic disorder in addition to Asperger's...

Risperidone is an atypical antipsychotic that is used to treat autistic irritation. I am currently taking it, as specified by psychiatrist, for slowing my mind down. I have seen symptom alleviation with regards to both the autistic irritation and motor/vocal tics.

I like the commercials that say "side effects may include death"
