like my dad throws a ball at our feet and we kick it to see how far it goes.
or whos shoes would fly the farthest.
my shoes would always go over the fence lol

Swings are great!
If only I had a bigger back yard...

I hated swings when I was a child. I found them frightening.

Love swings, but sometimes I get motion sickness if I swing for too long.

Wish we still had one in the back yard =/

i love swings, my fav part though is to twirl a swing and watch it untwirl can stand there for hours doing so, then ill climb all over the swing, if i actually swing, i flap my feet hehe.

Me too. I love twirling it and watching it untwirl. When I was 16 my mum was visiting a friend. They had no TV but had a tire hanging from a rope tied to a tree. I would swing and twirl on that for literally hours, because my mum can talk to her friend for literally hours. I even did this thing where I kicked off the tree to give me more boost.
I love my swing chair too. I haven't been on an actual swing set for ages.

this...but then again it's my own fault for spinning round and round and round all the time:p

[1234's fantasy]
When I grow up (as in life with job and house and stuff), I'm so getting a swing set, or one of those porch swings.
And a hammock. We used to have one and it was so relaxing laying down in it and sort of swinging around.
I also want a rocking chair.

I like swings but I do not get a chance to go on one more than once in a while. I like to swing so high I can see over the horizontal bar which is at the top of the frame holing the swing. It is interesting that the equations for SHM only apply to a pendulum when the amplitude of the oscillation is small.

Perhaps one of the maths experts here or a physics expert who knows simple harmonic motion could write a set of equations for a pendulum which is swinging with a peak to peak amplitude of anything from zero to pi radians (180 degrees).

I enjoy swinging, but it becomes boring quickly. Today I'd probably swing, like, five times and then stop.

When I was a kid, I could swing for ages.

The movement felt very comfortable and I'd try to keep swinging to the same level until my legs hurt from the strain. I'd continue anyway, let the swing become almost still to relax my legs and arms and then start anew.

I actually thought about that. Hmm, I shall look into it during the summer and see what I can get out of it. =)

I am 50 years old and still love swings. In fact, I am looking for a nice swing to put on my deck. I have 9 rocking chairs in my house. Swinging is like rocking, I think. If I can't do one, I have to do the other.
