Here's where AS's definiton as "mental illness may be of help. Since AS is a dx in the DSM-IV, you may be able to contact a mental health agency. If you're in the U.S, you might be able to enlist the services of a county patients' rights advocate.

Good luck.

Well, I guess I'm lucky then that I'm only mildly Autistic; I never tell people these things about me until after they hire me, and I show what I can really do.

OMG.... I was stunned that I got so many replies!!
I started off to reply every single post with quotings and personal responses to all of you BUT I lost everything when I just had one post left to reply on
This took me again some hours but I think it was worth it as you all thought it was worth to reply from the beginning!
Its great isnt it! Life is only in favour for xalepax at the moment

I have lost two days of my private videowork with a deadline on friday due to all this. So I just cant start over replying at the moment again which is a great pity.
Instead I will summarise a joint reply to all of you and to make things around this situation more clear.

THANK YOU EVERYONE who have replied and showed your support!

Its amazing that so many strangers out there seems to truly care and many of you I havent even said hi to at all.
I appreciate this forum more and more for each day that passes by. We would all be so lonely aspies if we wasnt here to support each other!

To all of you who wondered about where in the world I am to be found.
Im located to the center of the capital city in a rich spoiled and stupid western european country.
Sorry for not beeing more specific than that....

The company in question is a non profit organisation where work is voluntary based only without payment

I worked for them voluntary for a year, some years ago, with the exact tasks that I was supposed to do now.

By then they had another manager who saw the benefits of my contribution.
A mangager who was keen to keep the radio off for me sometimes and a manager who appreciate my time and effort I devoted to them, manager who saw my abilities.
I was stupid to believe I could return and get all that again....

When my drawing skills went known to them I got the request of creating the new logotype for them. I neither got money or signed any copyright statement for that

I have no knowledge about legal actions
and dont think I would have the energy to fight - for what? To make the manager change her mind? No thank you. Then I would more prefer to take off their logotype and claim its mine.
At least I will write a statement of humiliation to the comittee of the organisation "as a thank you for all I have personally given to their organisation".

I have indeed learned out of this and to hold back with my AS
NTs who havent met anyone with AS and have no knowledge about it is very dangerous, especially if they are managers. This is the fourth time in a row within only half a year I get offended for my AS when wanting to appy for a voluntary work. I dont need money to work for but I need to feel appreciated and wanted in my excistense.

Next time I wont say a word and I will leave my work consultant out of it. Because she is the one who do the first approach to potential working places. Calling them and say:

"Hi Im from the city council and represents a high functioning woman with Asperger Syndrome. She is intersted in doing voluntary work at your place, may we come for a visit?"

No wonder why mangers is scared off!

I know why you like voluntary work. I voluntarily work as a chess teacher for kids at my chess club, just because it's fun and I like watching the successes of the kids I taught. It's a very gratifying experience. (And nobody ever complained about me. I'm successful, and respected for that.) I wouldn't do a full time job without payment, though. It would be destroying regular, paid jobs, and lower the worth of work in general. Besides, I don't like people taking advantage of me. I'd say that's what happened to you. If they took your work but treated you like that, you should be glad to be rid of them.
What I'd do is ask them never to use the logo you created for them again. (Since I don't know where you live, you should collect information about copyright laws in your country. Most likely you will not be able to force them to take the logo down legally if you gave them permission to use it, but it's at least worth a try.) Congrats on confronting them about the issue, anyway.
If you are high functioning, maybe you really should apply to the next job(s) without your consultant. If the first thing a potential future employer hears about you is that you have some sort of "mental disability" (remember most people aren't particularly well informed about AS!) the first impression will automatically be negative.
