I like the range of perspectives in this thread, and appreciate Mr. Pink starting it. Although we are all aspies, look at the range of ages and backgrounds - for sure some are going to be up and positive and some are going to be down and negative, with most some place in the middle.
I wonder how these forums will be in 20 years, when the young aspies diagnosed early and provided support/accommodation/training and so forth (gaining a group identity in the process) are approaching middle-age. There was nothing when I was growing up, only utter alienation. From that perspective, I think it's getting better for us, and encourage that we beat the drums to be recognized as entitled to the basics, like everyone else. Oops sorry, I'm getting off track.
