I think it keeps our country running. Without it, we all be poor because no one be working and places would fall apart because no one would be able to maintain them. Sometimes I do wish everything was a dollar so I can get everything I want but I know that won't work while there are dollar stores out there. So I am glad we do have money, it keeps people motivated and there are a lot less lazy people out there because they need money to keep a roof over their head and keep themselves fed and other things they have like their cars, cable, phones, electric and water. Pretty much everyone works for money because we all need it. Now what if our president decided to get rid of money? Bam there be a lot more lazy people because they wouldn't want to work. Also what if everything were free but we still earned money, still no point in working then.

Money is a form of power over other people. It gives you the freedom to tell them, "Screw you" when you get tired of their shenanigans. Money is also necessary to satisfy any special needs you might have, whether food, clothing, accommodations, etc.

Money is nothing compared to the health and well-being of you and those around you.

It's necessary to have a bit of money to be going on with, but there are many more important and more spiritually fulfilling things to look out for in life.

Those reasons are exactly why I value money above everything in the world, even above love.

This planet has -- or rather had -- a problem, which was this: most of
the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many
solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were
largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper,
which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of
paper that were unhappy.

Money is not the problem. The problem is in allowing people to accumulate unnecessarily large quantities of it.

For aspies and those who can't cope with developing relationships or living with others...I think it's important for them to have as much money as they can obtain. To live in our own world and to obtain the things we need in order to prevent ourselves from stress and meltdowns requires lotsa money. If we can't have social skills then we could get money to help us develop some relationships.

So anyone who says money can't buy you happiness...well you maybe wrong on that. For people like me...having a lot of money is essential in order for me to live in a calm environment where I am not compelled to be miserable, suicidal, angry, or violent. I can have what I need when I need it and I will not lose my mind if I have money.

Another one who I agree with 100%. These are exactly my thoughts as well. In the case of aspies, it is possible to buy happiness.

What you posted rings so true for me. Having a lot of money would be enough to bridge some of the gaps AS creates. If I had tons of money I would invest it. Investing it means skipping over this kowtowing which is something I do so falsely and am not good at anyway. If I had my own money I wouldn't have to attempt that only to fail miserably time and time again. I would still be nice to people, but I wouldn't have to put up that sickly false front that's too sweet but undeniably fake. I could be myself which is neither rude nor super sweet but somewhere inbetween the two and on the bland side and still get results. People wouldn't notice the things they do now if they knew I was loaded with money. Just think of all the problems Aspies have that would magically disappear. We would get the respect we deserve! I wouldn't be thought of as dumb and even if people thought that anyway, they would have to do more to hide the fact if they knew I had influence. I would be promoted from weird to eccentric.
I would buy up businesses. I would let my money make money and that would take the burden off my Aspie brain. Just let the money do all the earning and not my sadly lacking people skills.
Every Aspie should get savings bonds from birth.

Hi. What do you think/believe about money, or how do you feel about it? I find the ethics surrounding it very confusing. I don't know if it's ethics that causes the confusion, or the abstract nature of money. I would like very much to hear your thoughts about the topic of money. Thanks.

Money is a convention which keeps our production and consumption in rough balance. Without it people would want indefinite amounts of stuff and without it no one would produce much more than they could use themselves. It is handy to keep our economic system chugging along.

True True True

I love money. Money provides access to many products and services I want bad, but can't afford at the moment.

As the Flying Lizards even sang "the best things in life are free...but you can give them to the birds and bees, I need money...that's what I want..."

My ex hated money and said it was all made up and there is no such thing. He thought there should be no money because it was "ret*d." He just didn't want to work and pay to keep a roof over his head and stuff and he wanted to spend it on himself, not on things like bills and gas. He also bitched about money being taken out of his paycheck for taxes and thought there should be no taxes. Then he went onto thinking people should decide where they want their money to go to for taxes. He also went onto thinking, living should be free and gas and food and bills but not stuff you want.

He sounded beyond confused...

He was a lazy SOB and he had problems; ADHD and he seemed aspie like and he might have been schizo my mom says. Just his thinking patterns and the things he thought. He was basically like a kid than a 20 year old so it was like he was a kid instead of my bf and I was the parent so that sure showed me how teens are lot of work. My current bf says to me sometimes "No wonder you wanted to put him in diapers" and he says he was a big baby. I used to think he might have had AS but I kept being told by my aspie buddies and regular buddies he was just an a**hole.
