Many in society DO own up to the "unwritten social rules." I was told them many-a-time when I was young. Sometimes, I would listen; other times, I would not. To this day, I don't follow them....and people notice.

I don't believe "abnormal people" lacking empathy is the point here. I don't believe the average person thinks along those lines.

I think the point, merely, is that "abnormal" people don't act "normal." They don't adhere to the "unwritten rules"; hence, they are attacked in various ways.

SOC , that's great ., but I have a mediocre diploma already . I just want to get my paperwork out of bondage/captivity .
So I can try to go from there .
I have a mediocre HS diploma already ~ I just want access to it .
Why can't I ???

ACCEPT what Greeley is doing , and spend many months ~ or years ~ trying to follow a modern-day HS curriculum(Sp??) , which I am DECADES out of date on  ???
I'm not belittling anybody who got a GED for the standard reason of " I didn't get to do it at the proper time " , believe me . In fact , my getting an HS diploma was , sort of , half-assed , I didn't REALLY take a lot of the standard courses (at least full-through) , I was sent to a " special " non-graded school (Guess why  .) for much of my HS years...

Did you ever take my recommendation of writing the BOCES in which your High School is located? Someone, somewhere, has your records, either on computer, on microform, or paper somewhere in their archives. If writing the BOCES doesn't work, write the New York State Dept. Of Education in Albany. You're griping at the wrong people. Gripe at the BOCES or Albany. Become a complete pain in the ass to these people in these organization.

Normality means **conforming to a standard; usual, typical, or expected**

Being normal is conforming to the pervading "social constructs" of what it means to "be normal"

It is behavioral conduct (condtioned or inate) that conforms to social consensus...

Calling somebody nuerotypical because they don't have a diagnosis of autism is like the reverse calling somebody black because of the "one drop rule". Normality is a construct just like all other labels. If people don't like labels then it doesn't make sense to label others as NTs...not everybody labelled as an NT conforms to social norms...

what really annoys me is the "I don't have to compromise for your weakness, you should be trying harder to change to fit what i want you to be and what i want you to give me" attitude a lot of NT's have. for example my mother, she wants me to learn and to compensate to better act "normal", why the hell do i have to change to suit your needs? why can't i be me, my own person

It's a hard balance to strike. For me, I don't want to be conspicuous in public, so I watch my stimming. But when I'm with people I'm close to, like my mother and my friends, I like the freedom to not mask. My mother constantly corrects my behaviour. She always has, and it's so ingrained in her to do so that even though I ignore her most of the time, she keeps it up. When I was a kid I tried so hard to be nt, now I'm content to hide in the shadows.

Doesn't making the implicit explicit undermine the foundations of our oppressive society? It would necessitate criticism of all social systems. All of these things are part of the rules. I haven't seen anyone attempt to do this before, except maybe intersectional social activists. What do you think?

Yes, this is infuriating. I wouldn't even call it "weakness", just being different. A little empathy, compassion, and human decency from NTs is really necessary, but they are too concerned with telling us how we should be existing.

By their vary nature pack animals see difference as "weakness"-- the more different members of the pack are from each other the harder it is for them to work as a single unit.

It's so annoying when Aspies use wild dogs to explain how NTs survive.

Who said anything about dogs? There are all kinds of pack animals and they all tend to operate within those bounds. Doesn't matter if it's canine or ungulate, pack animals tend to follow certain "rules", humans being a pack animal are no different. Now, if you're upset that I'm pointing out animal behavior and think I'm being unnecessarily derogatory, all I can say is: when humans stop doing dumb animal things then I'll stop pointing out those dumb animal things. You can take a monkey out of the jungle and put him in a suit, but when he starts grabbing his own feces and throwing it at you, you'll realize he's not evolved-- he's still just a monkey no matter how you dress him.

I asked someone if they missed high school.
There reply indicated their work environment was just a continuous.
Ten years later as a supervisors, he said many employees still had not changed.

To stay plugged in or
Not to be plugged in
That is the question.

Well, I'd say NTs act like dogs in general, not just wild ones. Aspies, on the other hand, are more like cats. ;)
