I'm not saying you're wrong, but I guess I have a bias toward bottom-up empiricism, meaning I'd need to see the evidence and evaluate it before saying you're right. Referring to some unnamed and unknown (to me, anyways) secret cabal citing only yourself as an authority leaves me unmoved, personally. Your point is simply unproven, and the "burden of proof" as such is on you as the one "asserting the positive."

Also, -- and here I must curse my faulty memory -- I remember reading a quote from someone to the effect that "When I call Jones a fascist, all I am really saying is 'I hate Jones.' " Possibly it is from Orwell's writing, possibly not, but quite frankly that is how I took your use of the term in the thread title: not as a reference to a political or some other system of belief, but as an insult and perhaps even of contempt. And the fact that I haven't the foggiest idea exactly where what I'm considering an insult is directed does nothing to advance your case. In fact it hurts it, since I must also wonder if you're the one spoiling for a fight, not whoever it is you're criticizing.

I was just highlighting some very common aspects of human nature, that happens here too, in hope the mentioning of said behaviours may reduce their frequency and alert others to dogmatic ideas.

I see a lot of people supporting false doctrine regarding the truth about AS

I hope there are more out there, that can perceive beyond this illusive matrix

I've enjoyed all the put downs and very harsh criticisms, thanks

The world is still flat!! !! !! !! !

"Harsh criticisms?"

But don't you prefer that people just tell the truth as they see it and not sugar coat it with diplomacy?

One of the things that bugs me here is the hypocrisy. Members here prefer honesty but yet some of them don't like honesty from others so they say they're bullies and say they got harsh criticisms or that members were rude or not nice, or get defensive about the responses they got. I just don't get it.

Okay now I feel better now that I have said something about it.

Ironically, having looked back at the "Very high functioning AS in denial -no I dont have aspergers" thread it does appear that Surfman indeed did get bullied. Although I don't personally agree with the intended message of this and the aforementioned thread, any counter-arguments are kind of undermimed now! I really don't think the OP was refering to TEGH either.

Could you elaborate?

And how can counter-arguments be undermined because of the perception of bullying?

Edit: I re-read it and I am honestly confused as to how you came to this conclusion.

*snort* He sure was, and basically admitted it in a very passive aggressive way. He wasn't being bullied, though. People disagreed and tried to explain why. That's not bullying.

Didn't someone suggest that he "deserved to get hurt" or something?

Yes, and people said that was not cool. It also happened well after the majority of this thread happened.

How does that undermine anything?

Yeah but others told that person that was harsh. They may disagree with the OP and not like what he is doing but they certainally don't wish he get hurt like that one user hopes.

Some one shows me some real support (other than 'I disagree with the OP but show no malice...')and another fight breaks out!

And League Girl, it was definitely more than 1 poster who was cruel.....

This is hardly a fight.

Your attitude isn't helping. Your original post that was referred to as bullying was barely a negative statement but was taken that way. I don't even see how it could be taken as bullying but since then you've been acting really immature.

But continue because this is the most entertained I've been all day.

I like most other people also disagreed with Surfman's idea of approaching those he suspected of AS in that other thread, but in his defence his was very early on accused of being arrogant which I do think out of order. Is not calling someone arrogant a personal attack? And when others do not pick up on this accusation then it can come across as tacit approval.
