I removed the most obvious part of the personal attack; however, I've left the rest because I can see why she got so angry.

Teach, you may not realize it, but these words:

are sweet and gentle in form and horribly insulting in their meaning.

How best can autistic committee members advocate for the full range of the spectrum? A question stemming from service users on committees who often seek to drive mental health policy in a direction that suits their needs rather than the service user community as a whole.

People have to experience “all aspects of the Spectrum” up close and personal. And bring this anecdotal input into the committee meetings.

I am fortunate in knowing autistic folks with a wide range of presentations.

It's a very one dimensional thing in my case . Strictly verbal. I have no doubt you surpass me in other ways. As do many here.

Listen, listen, listen, learn experiences of as many various autistic persons as possible... which is a challenge as autistic people often have communication issues.

You should make use of your experiences with your daughter within other parts of WP, I believe. That would probably provide you with an enhanced credibility.

If I had a kid at all, I would my experiences with raising kids within all arguments and discussions.

Everybody is good at some things, not so good at others.

A poster on WP talked about liking people who make and fix things better than people who don’t.

It hit me to the hilt...but then I thought of Gardner’s theory of “multiple intelligences.” That made me feel better.

It was meant to show that we all have our relative strengths and weaknesses.

Quite the contrary. I post here despite the negative perception about me.

You have improved muchly, over the months, from my POV.
I think most people will see you in a better light, now that you aren't a SJW anymore.

Yes that wasn't what I meant to say at all, I actually understood Starkid's post I didn't get upset about it. No problem there. I would like you to delete the angel bit, I was just being descriptive without giving it enough thought, my ADD. I understand my thoughtlessness. Thanks magz.

I might come across anti-NT but I'm not actually anti-NT.

I just think autism (or at least, my form of autism and similar forms which is the only form I know irl) and NT are both personalities rather than disabilities.

And all personalities have within them negative traits.

So if someone starts on here dismissing my personality as a 'disability', I will point out the ways in which NT personality could similarly be pathologised or treated as negative.

The best NTs I know are the ones who care a lot about their children. Like Cyberdad does. Or about other people in their lives. Or even have enough empathy to do that for strangers. They use their superior people skills to make life easier for other people they care about/people in general, rather than one-upmanship in the pursuit of popularity or conformity.

Alex would, most likely, say the same thing.

I would rather this site be a haven for those on the spectrum.
There are a gazillion other sites out there for allists.

It is like going to a gay club.
It is there primarily for gay people.
I really don't have a problem with my reasoning here.
I hope that doesn't make me a bad dude. 8O
