Calling someone arrogant is a personal attack, and yes, it is best when other people pick up on that and draw that error to the poster's attention and correct that kind of action ... but then nothing here makes it truly defensible for the first-attacked poster to respond to the offender by attacking back. That would only be engaging in a flame war and not good for anyone.

But they didn't pick up on it did they? Which is probably why Surfman feels this is all a bit one sided. I'm not defending all of his conduct by any means, but I am trying to see how this may look from his perspective and what his motivation is for starting this thread. It does seem that certain peoples transgressions are overlooked for some reason, while others are dealt with more harshly.

Understood, and "trying to see how this may look from his perspective and what his motivation is" is definitely a good thing ... and I readily admit I had not been following all of this like you apparently have.

Well, I was the one who showed the most animosity, and I have a post count of around a hundred, and most people disagree with me on most things, so I'm hardly a gang leader.

You likely just happened upon an unfortunate situation.

Your attitude isn't helping. Your original post that was referred to as bullying was barely a negative statement but was taken that way. I don't even see how it could be taken as bullying but since then you've been acting really immature.

But continue because this is the most entertained I've been all day.

I was not intending to be mature about it. I was laughing my ass off the entire time.

By the way, I don't consider myself to be top of the WP popularity ladder as it were, nowhere near.

*edited: used the wrong phrase duh, food chain lol we aren't eating eating eachother.*

Wow, news to me there was a popularity ladder here. Guess I don't pay close enough attention. But then again, the whole "life is a popularity contest" thing is something I don't believe in. It leads to a lack of individual accountability and mob mentality.

Facism is unrestrained capitalism under a totalitarian regime. I get so tired of people misusing words. People slip up in second and third languages, but can we all at least try to be fluent in our mother tongues?

Why do aspies have a hard time handling criticism?

When your unpopular, why do people search for every wrongly used word or minor error, and throw it in your face to try to hurt you?

Propagate ostracism, demean and personal attacks. Vindictive, vengeful and hardened over. Is this bullying an American thing? Was Bill Hicks correct when he said Americans are the bullys of the world?

A lot of hostile aspies here. At least the dangerous aspie database can be expanded a little by government agencies

For some. Perhaps 1/1000 don't care either way.

Ok, I just need to know someone else in this thread sees the irony here? Because if I'm the only one seeing it, I think I may have to start questioning my diagnosis and apply for NT status.

*raises hand* I see it. I got a bit of a chuckle from it, too.

That is not an accurate description of fascism. Capitalism and totalitarianism favour different élites.

leejosepho wrote:

Possibly. It depends on the people involved. But regardless of whether the speaker intends it as an insult and whether the subject takes it as one, if it is true - if the the subject is arrogant - then the speaker is entitled to say so. Whether that can be ascertained over t'interweb is another matter entirely. ^^
