um....I suggest the OP not to bump the thread like this, its the second time now......it starts to looks like spam and spam is not appreciated
It would be diffrent if it is direct responses to other members posts....

I mean I like to visit this thread for new posts about peoples interests but I dont like to enter it just to see the OP bump it. If a thread die then it die.....

Sorry, I did wonder if I might be doing it a bit much but I felt it was something relevant and interesting to everyone, not just me. If it was a personal thread I wouldn't do it. I'll just let nature take its course now...

I don't get how it seems like spam. I'm not saying anything other than *bump* - what ulterior motive could that have? Or do I have a different definition of the word than you?

The issue is, many of us have the forum notify us by e-mail whern there is a reply to a thread we've posted in. Your just posting *bump* triggers an e-mail to us telling us there si a reply to a thread we are watching. To get such a message, and see the reply is just "bump" is actually more annoying than simple spam.

So sorry dudes! I had no idea it notified you by email. I completely get what you mean by "spam" and why it's annoying. As I said before, I'll let the thread alone and if it dies, it dies. :)

Apologies!!

ooops. I see I have missed a few replies here as I dont have email notification on this particular thread

kc8ufv, thanks for clarifying my point to the OP!

TouchVanDerBoom
Its okay I accept your apology. I didnt mean to sound mad or so. I just tried to point out that Im just as excited to see further replies to this thread as you are.
And to enter it and believe it can be something fun to see simply made me disappointed to see only the word "bump" thats all

But I have a suggestion for you to keep it alive. You can make replies to what other people write if you feel the thread is dying. Like if someone say:
" I love frogs!! "
You reply : "omg, I think they are discusting, how come you love them? Ever kissed one?"

That contribute to something NEW to the thread and also invite to further discussions and we get to know each other a bit more on the way :D

Sorry if I bother anyone with this, but none of the threads similar to this one are recent. And I wanna get this out there (apologies again)

I like books, games (such as Spyro, Diner Dash), celebrities (it's Keanu Reeves atm) and the films they're in, oh and X-Men xD

My biggest special interest is Tim Burton, his movies, and the people in his movies (Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Mia Wasikowska [Alice in Wonderland], Crispin Glover [Alice in Wonderland] and Christopher Walken [Sleepy Hollow]). I've had this special interest since January of last year. It waxes and wanes in intensity, but even during the times when it's lacking in intensity, I find that I am way too emotionally invested in this interest to allow it to disappear completely. Right now it's very intense due to the fact that the first photos of Tim's newest movie, Dark Shadows (May 11, 2012), have recently been released on the Internet.

It also helps that Mia Wasikowska is making a couple of new movies which I am very excited about seeing: Jane Eyre (which I'm buying on DVD for my birthday next month) and Albert Nobbs (December 31, 2011 in select theaters). I just love seeing Mia in period pieces, because it reminds me so much of her role in Alice in Wonderland, which I absolutely adored. :)

I'm particularly interested in seeing Albert Nobbs, because it features themes that are prevalent in my daydreams: crossdressing in Victorian era times (thanks to the title character played by Glenn Close) and lesbianism (Glenn Close's character is in love with Mia Wasikowska's character and attempts to woo her).

When I was young:
- cats (including books, stickers and all sort of catshaped figures)
- my dollhouse up to 15
- planes and commercial airlines (facts, miniature models, postcards, books, airport codes all over the world)
- now:
- classical ballet was my greatest SI from age 17 and I became professional, but had always a very hard time because of coordinationproblems. I woke up with it and went to sleep with it and analysed the movements every day again. I am extremely musical.
- still cats
- psychology and practice of Emotional Freedom Techniques against stress

Medical science (made this one a career)--lifelong, ongoing
Learning languages--since teen years, ongoing
Cats--my first special interest, still to this day
Photography (of scenery, cats, other animals, not too much of people)
Philosophy--since college years

Past special interests include Donny Osmond (I was OBSESSED when I was about 8 to 11 years old), forensic science, online debate, reading the dictionary (yeah, really), writing, and Tarot cards when I was a teen.

As for my special interests that are my primary ones and have been with me the longest, I'll have to say theoretical computing and the foundations of mathematics ( to me they are closely related), and biology, which is a bit odd as I've heard that usually biologists hate math and mathematicians hate biology, so in many ways I feel like a walking paradox. Another special interest that has been with through the years that's a little less broad is video games, particulary bosses in them. I know every boss in every video I've ever played, and often I play video games just to get to the boss fights, and when I'm designing a game the first thing a design after I have the basic gameplay laid out is the bosses, and the plot often developed from there.

Mines changed again (as it does, it's quite cyclical in nature) I'm now interested in Scrubs (again) and the stars in it (mostly John C McGinley who plays Dr Cox), Sims 3 (although this is generally a constant background one) Burnout/Guitar Hero and the songs in them, and who they're by (weird, but I like the songs in these games xD).

Cats and big cats have been one of my special interests pretty much my whole life, and basically animals in general. My favourites are big cats and wolves. My admiration of their beauty and intelligence is what led to my interest in art and animation.
