Good hygiene: No one likes smelly people and want them near them. I can't stand someone smelling bad when they sit near me and I don't want them in my home or them touching me because they are dirty and it's unsanitary. That's why work places want their employers to be clean and groomed. I wouldn't want to walk in a store and deal with smelly employees or employees that look homeless.

Toilet seats down: It's icky to see the dirtiness under the seat and it looks neater when it's down. You don't leave any closet doors open or cupboards or drawers after you are done using them, you close them because it's looks neater. (Someone made that point at Yahoo Answers so now it makes sense about why toilets seats must be down)

Elbows off the table when you eat: Comes from olden times. Back then bunch of people would eat at the table and there wasn't enough room on the table for elbows so you had to leave yours off as you sit at the table. But I still don't get it why you should leave them off the table when they aren't in the way.

Feet in front of you: People can trip over your legs if they aren't and people have a harder time scooting their seats back to leave the table.

Gossip: Everyone needs to vent and talk about what's bothering them and they get over it by venting about it to their friends or to look for solutions to their problem they are having with that person and sometimes their friends try and speculate why this person acted this way towards them. When people have conflicts with someone, lot of them go to their friends and talk about it instead of coming to the person they had a problem with simply because they are too afraid that person might hurt them again when he or she confronts him or her about their conflict they had. They do not know you are not the kind of person who isn't going to give a s**t if you upset them what you said or did and not say your sorry for making them feel that way or even admit your actions were wrong and apologize for it.

Trolling: Oh yeah lot of us know about this, people who do it have nothing better in their lives, they are bored so they go online and troll.

Suing for lame reasons, especially for things that were you own fault: People just want money so they find excuses to sue or they are suing for revenge.

Capital Punishment: To get even. "You kill my brother, I want you dead for it so we're even." People think they will feel better when the killer gets executed but no they don't feel any better because their loved one is still dead. People find it unfair for someone to live their life while they took someone's life and it's unfair to that person and to their family whose life the killer had took.

Capital punishment also comes from the idea that people's rights are only rights as long as they don't infringe on the rights of others; so when you deliberately take somebody else's right to live, you give up your own. Actually, I don't think that's a NT concept. It rather appeals to my own sense of fairness and I know for a fact that Aspies like fairness... of course not all of us believe in capital punishment, but those that do tend to quote fairness as the reason.

I didn't know good hygiene was only an NT thing. If anything I'm overly obsessive when it comes to sanitary issues. I can't go more than a day without showering or I feel nasty. Being dirty/sweaty is uncomfortable to me, my skin just feels better when I'm clean and fresh. It's a sensory issue of mine.

I am doing People this and people that. :D

I scratch off NT and put in people, problem solved.

the funny thing with alcohol is a lot of people tell me that they drink to "forget about their problems"...in fact, most mindless distractions are to do that. I think it's utterly ridiculous, and I usually look down on people for that( yeah, that sounds new coming from me, right?).

I'm used to dealing with my problems head on; they're simply obstacles, and I overcome them, and am stronger and wiser in the long run.

I dont drink to forget; that kind of drinking, probably every day and perhaps ALL day, never really interested me............I'd get bored with it

If I do drink more than 'a glass' or 'an ounce' it is because it feels good (at the time).

There are plenty of other things that feel good (and usually better) like sports and s*x, (not in that order).......

If I want to feel good, I work on accomplishing something, or read/watch something to inspire me.

Or I'll hit up a movie or something with my room-mate.

Or spend time with my girlfriend.

Or listen to music, or spend time with my action figures. :)
