I don't like the idea of slogans for people. Next will be presenting a mission statement, and finding ways to jazz up our "brand". #spoilsport. :?

While slogans for all Aspies are invalid for at least a dozen very good reasons, slogans for Aspie groups would be helpful to improve outreach and marketability.

Is that agreement or disagreement? I have to admit I'm not sure how to read your response.

Both. I understand and agree with what you're saying from a practical standpoint, and understand the benefit of a more informed public awareness. It also sets my teeth on edge at the idea of being represented and marketed by palatable bits for public consumption. So I guess the best answer would be a resigned distaste.

Fair enough. I would like to draw attention to the bolded portion of my post.

I tried to qualify my statement there to limit it to Aspie groups, both online and offline. For example, ASAN's "Nothing about us, Without us" is probably the most effective slogan at this time out of all of the pro-Neurodiversity groups.

The saying is because in English, Aspergers sounds much like "A(something) - Burgers". It's a poor joke made by a television show, and now it covers several pages of google links.

Thank you

how about "I'm not trying to frustrate you, honest!" or "Sorry I didn't recognize you until you spoke."

I'm not sure I understand the second one.

Some Aspies are face blind and realize they know someone by recognizing their voices. I am, at any rate.

What would an aspergers slogan be?

In my view of the numerous ways NTs try to cheat/pull the wool over aspie's eyes:

We dont get fooled again,
dont get fooled again,
No,no!

(Thats because we are not CSI's)

(Completely Stupid Idiots)

More slogans in defence of aspies anyone else?

lol nice CSI and "The Who" reference.

"We see truth that others ignore" is probably the best I can come up with right now.

That was impressively handled. Ever thought about a career in politics?

I agree with the "distaste" platform and agree on an "anti-branding" stance. Slogans are for products and I don't imagine an Aspie fragrance selling very well.

 I think of a combination of hot soldering iron and the dusty back room of a large library all in one bottle. They have sold fragrance based on grass and meat, so why not?

:D Too true! Perhaps that's the perfume fragrance and the eau de toilette version more of an over heated engine with a touch of cat musk. For sure the bottle would be shaped like a magnifying glass or a monocle.
