I've been living alone for three months now, though I'm in a fairly big apartment complex, so I'm far from isolated. It's nice to come home to solitude after eight hours of work, though.

One the one hand I still long to live completely alone somewhere in the countryside, but on the other hand I do enjoy people-watching and being surrounded by some level of activity, provided it doesn't directly involve me. I were to live far from human contact of any kind, I'm sure any level of social skills I've managed to scrape together would dissolve quickly, and sooner or later I'd be dragged down by a sense that I'm wasting my life, not growing as a person, etc.

I've been living alone for 13 years. And I'm happy living alone. I need time and space for myself, with no one else around (but I also like visiting family or friends or going out for dinner with a friend). I'm living in an apartment in a big apartment building in a town, close to my family, and I like that, I wouldn't want to be miles away from other people.

I would love to. Being able to program since 7:00 AM without worrying about news in the background. Not worrying about surprise visits to my parents and also not worrying about the parties they organize. Life would be so much better.

I live on my own, and I love i! Life has been so much better, since I left the group home since last year. It just feels right to live on my own.

Sometimes. I live with 15 people (psych ward), and the crowd gets *overloading* quite often, and then sometimes I really wish I could go live on my own. But then again, before I was instittutionalized I lived alone and I couldn't handle that either. So I think in my case I'd want to live with fewer people, but not no-one at all. But I wouldn't want to go back live with my family at all, because we've been in too much trouble.

I love living alone, but due to financial reasons, I am going to have a roommate in the near future. I'm kind of nervous about it because I need A LOT of alone time.

Ouch.... as long as I get comfortable and start liking my neighbours, i probably be thinking, wow im glad, and normally i don't get all at all with my neighbours normally as they never accept the way i'am... I've had a list of complaints because of it.... :x

I wouldn't even cope with having to live with a roomate and I have to be so normal for god knows how long.... I would probably breakdown as I can't cope with too much people.

LOL! I live by myself in a beautiful top floor apt in a downtown highrise. I have nice things and a nice decor and kickass home network and home theater system.

And I hate coming home to an empty house! :D So I'm considering asking a woman I've been seeing to move in with me... in a few months if me and her work out. She lives in a similar apt just two blocks away anyway.

Living alone can be quite anxious but after my four year stint of living in the college dorms...trust me...it's well worth it.

I seriously would kill myself before I would ever move in with another stranger (or even a friend, it just never works out for me living around other people, not even when I'm just crashing on their couch for a few days visit).

But then living alone you get the advantage of to be autistic as you feel :) thats just in my case, but living with other people is so nerve wrecking... they will start complaining afterwards, I even wish to have my own room and yet my brother sleeps there aswell and I eventually end up becomming so annoying that people will end up finding it uncomfortable

sure, it makes perfect sense to me that someone would want to be more of who they are rather than some other thing.

(i'm always perplexed at those who seem to want the opposite, lol).

if possible, maybe you can make a little retreat place in a yard? or big closet? or something. it may not be possible, but if it is, you'll like it.

the best is when you can have privacy when you want, and can easily be with other when you want. i've rarely had this, but the few times i have, it was great.

Well, i was on my own for about 4 years. Couldnt complain too much, but the solitude and loneliness did get to me as work and World of Warcraft were the only things i could do on a budget. I did go out to a movie once with friends, and a LAN party some time later, but that was it. NOw, had to move back in with parents, dad is being a pain, mother is trying to keep things civil, and there is a still an aspect of loneliness. This is a "to each, his own," scenario . . . some would love to live alone, some dont, some want as least one person to become "intimate" with (whatever your preferred degree of intimate would be).

I would love a good LAN party with anyone on any game :D but I'm into shooting games :D it's pretty sad that was a one off.

Can I ask why you lived back with your parents if you don't mind me asking?
