The Beatles. Each of them, in turn.

I'm also quite obsessed with various Nazis, although I don't idolise them, obviously. I have desires to find out more about people. The political structure of the Nazi party was large enough for me to have hours to spend researching them. I intend to branch out into the communist USSR once I've got as far as I can with the Nazi's.

nicely thought out, cause as you'll discover--other than the Soviets being a lot smarter and suave in how they operated( which is why everyone hates Hitler today but has no issues wearing Che Guavara or a Hammer and Sickle on their shirts)--there's virtually no difference between either philosophy.

In fact....the only reason Hitler hated Communism so much was that he was convinced--I'm dead serious--that it was a plot by the Jews.

Good one to idolize. :)

Jack white.

Most talented musician around in a while, not just with guitar but with marketing, production and creating a gimmick for The White Stripes that's not pretentious or just plain dumb.

Yeah...besides The 20's, The White Stripes are my special interest.

I pretty much adore Temple Grandin and D'Arcy Wretzky.

Is that what you mean?

I tend to fixate on some people too. I wouldn't say I idolize them though. I've never understood the 'omg you're the most awesomist awesome in the body of a person' thing.

John Nash. i think he's AS (as well as having issues with schizophrenia.) i'm so happy that he won the Nobel, even though the committee had some controversies about naming him for the prize; he'd been so marginal for so long. some were afraid he would "embarrass" the committee at the ceremony. instead, it was an inspiration for so many people.

I idolize Tim Burton, his right-hand man Johnny Depp and his would-be wife Helena Bonham Carter.

But see, I have a tendency to put people I admire on a pedestal and expect them to be "perfect". My idea of "perfect" is the way my parents are - married to a single person their entire lives, no tattoos, no premarital sex or children out of wedlock. Given the nature of the relationships of Depp, Burton and Boham Carter, I was disappointed in them. It was almost as if they had let me down. It was in that moment that I came to the realization that no one is "perfect", not even my own parents (for other reasons).

I remember once that a therapist told me to stop looking for "perfect" people, because I would find no one to live up to such high standards other than Jesus. It's only now that I realize how true that is.

That being said, I still admire my three favorite celebrities despite what I perceive to be their flaws, and I'll stand by them no matter what. Still, I wouldn't want to get to know them personally, because I am unsure if they live up to their images in their everyday lives, and I want to keep envisioning them in my mind the way they come across in their movies.

I've never (and probably will never) idolized or admired anyone. I've honesty never found any reason to, even as a child. Crushes I've had but that's about as close as I get. A lot of people have done some great things in their lives and I respect them for it but I don't strive to be like anyone but myself because anything else would be a lie

I love to learn about the Nazis and the Soviets, too. They are quite interesting. People like Tomas de Torquemada as well. And Jimenez de Cisneros. Whatever made these people the way they were?

Queen Isabella, of course, she was just quite a brave woman, so admirable. I do wish to be just like her.

Mick Avory, the original Kinks drummer is my idol, hands down. I'm going to be honest, from this point, on. No more sugar coating the truth.

I used to idolize Stanley Kubrick after I watched 2001: A Space Odyssey, however; I've recently developed a stronger and more mature admiration for him based on the stylistic techniques he employs in his films. I even appreciate films which I regard as his lesser efforts (Full Metal Jacket).

I idolize people based on the strength of their character, not on their status in society.
