I've gotten over avoiding phone calls to friends, family or potential friends (even though I hate the initial first call to anyone) but when it comes to dealing with bills and confrontation, I have someone else handle it because I don't do a good job with that.

8O I work as a web designer - building websites for clients - and i still have to talk on the phone to them - i hate it - i try so hard to send them lots of info by email - its so much easier to answer their questions clearly if you can think about it while you type a reply - but still they want to speak to you :? I think half the time they just want to check i'm a real person and have me repeat everything i just typed... Image

I make my own phone calls, as much as I hate doing so. On the other hand, if I'm out with my friends, at a restaurant, or we're at the mall, and I want to ask a question, my best friend asks the questions for me. I really miss him. He's my Ray Davies.

Recently I've become better at this stuff, but I still hate having to do it and nervous when doing so, so I'll get someone else to do it when I can.

I make my own phone calls but I HATE talking on the phone, no matter what it's for! People don't understand my reluctance, coz it's "just talking on the phone!" I don't know why I hate it so passionately, I just do! I often have to work up to making a phone call for half an hour.

I often do all the phone calls myself from friends and sometimes from the college even though sometimes I hate talking on the phone because it is just so unexpected most of the times, sometimes I tend to panic because I wouldn't know what to say sometimes.

My wife has to make all my calls. Even for simple things like appointments. I just wont call. It just goes around and around in my head and it never comes out as a phone call. Thank God for her.

Yes. My mother usually makes phone calls for me.

But that's okay, she hates writing as much as I hate calling, so we help each other out.

For the most part, others do it for me. Often my phone anxiety makes it difficult to even speak. On good days though, when my overall anxiety level is lower, I do it myself. Even then, I have a hard time standing up for myself, whether disputing charges or turning down sales people(same thing happens in person).

I hate phone calls and sometimes try to avoid them at all costs. I dont have a problem talking to family or close friends but I tend to put off making some phone calls to people I dont know.

Yes at the moment. Most of the time anyway, sometimes I can get up the courage to call.

It's a big problem for me, though. At the very least in my relationship. My husband just doesn't understand.
He's come home to me crying so hard that I burst the capillaries around my eyes, because I thought I was going to have to make a phone call. Just the other day, my internet wasn't working and he told me to call the cable company. I freaked out and my mom said she would call. She called but she said since she didn't have the computer there, she couldn't actually help me. So she told me to call and said I didn't have to worry about it because it was all automated, she told me exactly which buttons to press and everything before I called.
So I called and was fully prepared to just deal with the automated service, but then someone answered. I ended up tossing the phone in my husband's direction and ran to my bedroom crying.

I don't do too well with phones. =/
