I love NTs being here. We need to hear their point of view and their opinions and have them explain things to us why things are the way they are with people.

I find it extremely frustrating when people say trite trivialisms such as

"you should really try to stop monologueing/interupting/anxiousness/perseverating/niavity"
or
"You should try to comunicate/listen/understand/empathise more"

obviously if I could do that I would not have aspergers but be just an NT with poor social skills or shy or clueless. Im not clueless Im a postgraduate student but I have deficits and 'nagging' me aint going to give me them. Its like telling a deaf person just to try to listen a bit more or a blind person to try to see! I think some NTs have a big thing about rescuing aspies and wanting to help them as in Jenny Mcarthy.

Its annoying as I have enough of that crap in real life and I come on here to get away from that.

As someone who is kind of on the cusp between AS and NT, I always find it strange when people divide humanity into AS vs. NT. Where do you draw the line between the two? Sometimes I feel like I'm able to give an NT perspective on things, and in other situations I have more of an "AS" perspective. Both can be true. Of course, there will be some who disagree, and that's fine. They are free to put me firmly in either category, as they see fit.

There are a lot of people here who make a big deal about being on the autistic spectrum, but then they post endlessly about how many facebook friends they have, and who PMed who with what gossip. That doesn't strike me as particularly "autistic". Then again, I know that AS comes in many shapes and sizes. A teacher once thought my son couldn't be autistic because he makes good eye contact and can be a good conversation partner.

So, whatever. As long as people are reasonably respectful and have something interesting to say, I don't care if they are AS, NT, both, or neither.

I use NT because 1) non-autistic doesn't flow as well and 2) I see great differences between myself and them. It's not always negative but I really don't want to be a part of that society.
I've gone anti-FB too. I just use it to play games I'm obsessed with. I deleted all my info on my profile.

Yes! We will hide in a dense forest and design our own language and culture and be discovered hundreds of years later!

or you can hope that 2012 is really gonna be what happens in shadowrun XD

Gotta love the thought of most of the human population mutating into elves, trolls, dwarves, and such.

I think that if you expect anyone to withhold their two cents... you should do the same yourself... as your advice is often not wanted, as deduced from my perusing.

No. Aspies here also speak on NT socializing stuff they know nothing about. It even goes as far as elaborate theories. So many people call small talk stupid for example yet don't even understand it's function in socializing.

Re: NTs. Most of them on here are pretty nice. There is the odd one that make my blood boil though, such as a particular man I see posting here from time to time. Anyway i wont say any more.

People either love me or hate me on this site and I'm fine with that. A lot of people on here aren't on here to get advice, they're on here to get a pat on the back. I tell people what is actually happening if they wanted to get over their problems that they talk about.
