As someone who is kind of on the cusp between AS and NT, I always find it strange when people divide humanity into AS vs. NT. Where do you draw the line between the two? Sometimes I feel like I'm able to give an NT perspective on things, and in other situations I have more of an "AS" perspective. Both can be true. Of course, there will be some who disagree, and that's fine. They are free to put me firmly in either category, as they see fit.
There are a lot of people here who make a big deal about being on the autistic spectrum, but then they post endlessly about how many facebook friends they have, and who PMed who with what gossip. That doesn't strike me as particularly "autistic". Then again, I know that AS comes in many shapes and sizes. A teacher once thought my son couldn't be autistic because he makes good eye contact and can be a good conversation partner.
So, whatever. As long as people are reasonably respectful and have something interesting to say, I don't care if they are AS, NT, both, or neither.
I use NT because 1) non-autistic doesn't flow as well and 2) I see great differences between myself and them. It's not always negative but I really don't want to be a part of that society.
I've gone anti-FB too. I just use it to play games I'm obsessed with. I deleted all my info on my profile.
