Does anyone ever want to punch a green peace kid in the face
I think the bombing (by French agents) of the Rainbow Warrior was related to non violent direct action, of the Rainbow Warrior sailing into the French nuclear test area in the French Polynesia in 1985.
Just because I holds opinions for green issues, does not mean that I am pushy, or that I "deserve to be punched in the face".
I would say this to refute any misinformation on this forum relating to Greenpeace, or any other non violent activist organizations.
When I was in the Air Force we were prohibited from engaging in any activity that involved Greenpeace. In fact, if you had any past affiliation, other than just looking into membership, you could be rejected by the military during the entrance process. They would give no clearances to anyone with past association with Greenpeace. They saw it as a terrorist organization in the 90s, but I am not sure about now. If you compare them to Al Quaida (sp?) they may not seem like much, but the government has a reason to place them on a list of terrorist groups, even so.
Does anyone feel the same way?
I would rather that you did not club seals, empty your dustbin out onto the street or stick radwaste in the river. But I am aware that some people working on the behalf of greenpeace and other charity bodies do make themselves into real A1 pests.

Some reason the way they aggressively approach and interact with people on the street is extraordinarily agitating. And it fires up some innate defense instinct in me that makes me want to punch them in the face!
Their technique of approach seems to be universal to all the green peace representatives in town, and it seems to be quite counter productive to their causes because it really pisses a lot of people off who are approached by them.
Seriously…. now that I have experienced these representatives aggressive approach tactics. I now want to club baby seals, dispose of trash on the street, dump radioactive waste in rivers and est.… just to spite them.
Does anyone feel the same way?
Wave them away quietly but firmly. If they persist, then abuse them verbally.

I was in a green protest march just two weeks ago. Either way though I hate pushy salespeople of all sorts, whatever their cause. Its weird, two jehovahs witnesses came to the gate a while back, and I had wet hair and was in no mood to greet anyone. When I got to the gate, a gaily dressed older polynesian couple was there, they had big smiles on their faces and said "So sorry to bother you when you just got out of the shower. We are here to spread the message of Jesus." They were so nice, I just got a really good feeling from talking to them. Even though they didnt manage to convert me. they were just sort of non-aggressive and kindly.
On the other hand a whle back i was lying on the beach with my boyfriend and a group of chrstian girls approached me and said 'What are you doing tomorrow night" I felt taken aback, none of their damn business what I am doing.. and I am lying on the beach... WTF? They gave me an invitation to their church meeting thing which was on the following night, but I felt annoyed by something about them. they seemed kind of frosty and in 'recruitment mode".
So, I thnk it is not street vendors who are really annoying, but how they conduct themelves is the important thing.

Not correct- the french bombed the rainbow warrior because Greenpeace (and New Zealand) objected to France wantng to turn Pacific atolls into nuclear waste grounds. The French Government actually let off huge nuclear bombs inside the atoll as recently as 1996 even though the majority of the French people were against the testing at that point.
