It's common for aspies/auties to have a mental/intellectual age of someone older and an emotional age of someone younger, hence the feeling 47 and 12 at the same time. I feel older and younger too. Sometimes I wish I could just feel my age like most people do because it would make relating to peers a lot easier.

wow, that explains so much, thanks for that!

lately I feel about 1007 years old. I'm worn out fighting this and everything else.

I definitely feel I am aging backwards though. I felt sooooooooooo much older than everyone when I was a child, I was so logical and everyone seemed nuts, now I feel like a child and everyone else is a grownup who can do grownup things and I don't know how to do anything.

Yeah, that's what it's like for me too.

Me too I feel ancient at times and I had this feeling when I was 5. If I could choose an age to be it would be five - but without the need for parents - the ability to fly and breath in space and then I would just spend my times exploring the universe.

I feel like I'm in my mid 40s...my chronological age is 28.

What makes it even funnier is I totally feel like I can relate to people and characters in their 40s.

The screenwriter for the movie Legend wrote a really great quote...and he was 44 at the time, and I love the quote.

My two favorite characters from Talespin are Louie and Shere Kahn; I've come to see a lot of myself in the latter...and he's supposed to be in his mid 40s.

I also feel like I can relate heavily to Frasier and Niles Crane.

Can I also just sit down, relax, and watch some funny stuff with my friends & relax though? Sure...but people in their 40s can do that too; it doesn't make me feel as though I'm any younger than that I assure you...

I feel tired of everything as though I've lived for ever and ever, but in other ways I feel about 24 or so.

Emotionally...eh. I find myself unable to see the connection between emotion and age. How do one's emotions change as they get older? I don't remember my youth, so I've not got much to compare with.

Aren't you still in your youth?

That depends on how you look at it. "Youth" is a fairly nonsensical concept, anyway. I meant "the time when I was younger than I am now, but not what one might consider "recent history"".

I understand. In my old job, I used to say things like, "Well, when I was younger..." and I would be interrupted with, "You already are younger."

I feel like I'm just truly 16... Yet when I was 16, I felt like I was in my 20's.

The Wii thinks I'm 57...

But according to others, they think I'm 16 in looks.

I am 23, but I feel as if I am no older than 11. I think I stopped 'growing' once I reached middle school.

I went backwards too. Because I'm clever when I was in primary school I felt like some kind of adult and liked to talk to adults. But I never grew past the start of highschool or something and now I'd rather talk to people younger, I can't wait for my second year of college because the younger students will be moving up and I'll have more chance to make friends and I'm starting a new course (biology) so I'll be with all the first years.

I'm hopefully getting this tested soon- comparing my adaptive skills to others' and getting age norms. When we go to the SSI hearing, we need to prove that I'm not really 22.

If I had to guess, I'd say self care is about 10-12, interests are about 10, and emotional is 12-14 on a good day.

my mind [non-physical aspect of the brain- thoughts/feelings, childlike efficacy in an adult world] feels 8, but my physicality [including brain function in general] feels 90.
