I know it was practice in the wild west to put people to shame. Everyone could see that the tarred and feathered person did something wrong.

So I searched wikipedia and apparently it was hot tar


hot tar would be quite horrible 8O

Yeah, and the humiliation was sort of a Que for stupid kids and mean people to kick the humiliated person and throw things at them, and stuff.
