Autism and Selfishness
Indeed, so called selflessness only exists because of the emotional reward people get from such acts.
I am both actively and passively selfish, as I don't immediately go and cheer someone up when they're sad.
Although I'm really not responsible for the emotional states of another person, it's mostly due to bad experiences.
In my family, if someone's sad they just get angry if someone tries to cheer them up.
