Just block the estrogen? Ummm... no. That would be dangerous. Messing with the endocrine system is Serious Business.

Working at a day care, visiting young relatives, or becoming a church nursery worker would be a way to get interaction with very young people without having a baby yourself.

Just don't think that testosterone will reverse the effects of estrogen. It wont. It makes girls horny. Some are so sensitive to it that even kissing a guy causes them to get horny due to the testosterone present in all guy's saliva.

I was seriously considering adoption, but even though my heart wanted one, my mind had to ask the question, who will care for the child when I am at work? Being a single parent is a really hard job. I hope you will accept that fact and try to get married before having kids. Raising kids is a two person job. In your current state, you shouldn't even have sex before marriage because you can't trust yourself to use proper birth control.

I kinda know how you feel. I want a baby too I've wanted one for a long time especially since im 24 and want to raisea child while I'm still young.

I think everyday having a baby will make me and my fiances life better. Then reality sets in a baby will not make your life better its just gonna add drama to it and what if after you have it you get sick of it it's not a doll or something you can walk away from.

Heres a suggestion. What about getting one of those real but fake babies new parents practice with at least they do on tv but that way you will see how demanding a baby is.

When the time is right ill have a baby and so will you please don't rush and that way you will be ready. Your still young.

You are clearly in a state of denial about the responsibility involved in raising a child. You haven't responded to any of the points made with any degree of reason whatsoever. All you seem to be able to see is your need to have a baby, and nothing about what the baby needs!

Are you willing to answer these questions?:

What job do you have now?
Do you have good health insurance?
Who is the father, and are you both committed to raising this baby together?
How will you support the baby through day care, elementary school, high school, extracurricular activities, physical/mental disability and all of the countless expenses required to pay for a sound upbringing?
How do you plan to invest in a college fund?
Who will take care of the baby if you become ill or disabled?

You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain by waiting until you are capable of raising a child (and being capable of raising a child means far more than loving it). Thinking that love is all you need is incredibly naive. Please think reasonably about this!

What do you mean you don't know what to do?

I think she's trying to say that the urge to have a baby is so overwhelming she doesn't know what to do about it.

Is there some kind of drug you can take to kill or at least lower urges like those? So she can get on with her life without being driven mad by the urge to get pregnant? Would estrogen blockers do it??
There is, one of the drugs that worked for me was Anafranil. It kills the desire, so that the person can function.
Right now I have to save up again for an insemination procedure, the last one didn't work. But to do that, I have to go back on the medication, or this 'desire' (I call it the Beast) will drive me into unsafe sexual behaviors.
The probable differance between me and her, is that I don't LIKE wanting to have a baby, but it seems that my BODY wants it. It's hard to explain. But if I don't do it, I become extremely anxious, and depressed. It's almost like I am being forced to reproduce.

BTW, it's not like I wouldn't be able to care for the child or love it, this isn't how I planned on having one. :?

I think you should see your doctor about the overactive maternal urge, and ask to try the stuff Metalwolf mentioned. Seriously. You are clearly so overwhelmed by your urge to have a baby that vital issues such as money and healthcare seem to you as just asides. That's NOT good and is probably going to lead you to have unsafe sex.

I'll be blunt. If you have a child at your age that's probably going to be your life and the child's life down the TOILET. Only a rare few girls in such a situation manage to turn things around, go to college, get a good job and build a good life for themselves and their children. Do you really want a crappy life for your child just because you were suffering from the effects of a shedload of estrogen at the time and thought it was a good idea? No? I thought not.

So please, don't do this to yourself and your potential baby.

I really want a baby too. Most people in their teens are not ready to have kids because they are still in school and they aren't financially stable yet because they don't make much money and plus they go to college. Most teen moms quit school just to support their child and then they get their GED and they can't go to school and they usually wait till their kids are older before they start going. And most people in their twenties are just starting out with their career so they aren't making much money yet and they finish school and it takes a while to make more with their career. So most people look at the age and make that assumption about you. My parents were in their 30's when they had all their kids. Now today it seems to be more common to have kids in your 40's.

I think all these programs such as food stamps, TANF, programs that help pay for child care just encourages young parents to have kids, same as low income people because that's the point. They want people to have kids.

No you don't!

Babysit a baby for a week. A niece or a nephew maybe? That ought to cure any desire to have a kid of your own.

An 18-year commitment? Being responsible for someone else's bodily functions for 3-4 years? Sleepless nights? And just you wait until they grow up into teenagers. Oh boy...

No. Just no.

Babysit a kid and see what it's like. Reason will then very quickly overpower your emotions I think.

Lol. Totally agree. Babies aren't cute when you have to clean up their vomit and poo.
