It's weird, though, because the doctor says I have lots of earwax around my eardrum which is so thick that even eardrops won't be able to soften it, so he's prescribed me with some medication for it (which seems to be making it difficult for me to be able smell things). But the strange part is, how come my ears are completely blocked, yet I can hear unwanted distant sounds so well? Everybody says I have such sharp hearing.

The sound of sand on concrete, metal clanging, guitar feedback, children shrieks/yells, anything very loud and high pitched, sound of crushing cans, high pitched female voices, and a few more I can't think of.

Largely my sons crying and/or whining. Words cannot explain what this does to me. When it's really bad, like when I'm trapped in a car with the noise, I'll actually get the same feeling that I get when I look at an open wound. I have to keep ear plugs, noise canceling head phones, and construction hearing protection near me at all times just to get through the day.

1) People yelling, especially in high-pitched voices.
2) Loud crowds (people's voices are inconsistant and inconsistant sounds are uncomfortable).
3) Inconsistant counds.
4) Music I dislike at loud volumes.
5) Children/Babies crying.
6) Silverware scraping on dishes and glasses clanging.
7) Chewing, slurping and other mastication-related noises.

I had this at the start of the year. Unfortunately, I can't remember what I was told when I asked why does blocked ears give me sensitive hearing. Before, I would have poor hearing if they were blocked.

For me, it's loud and /or unexpected noises - dogs, cars, sirens, motorbikes, etc. The clock annoys me too.

Car Radios, bands and any kind of bassy music that cause me to go into Sensory Overload so bad that I can feel the sounds and become extremely upset because it bothers me so bad.

Yapping dogs
People sitting out on their front porch all hours of the night beating their gums together.
Trains. I live very close to a railroad yard and I'm surrounded by railroad tracks.
My own TV if it is turned up too loud, which wouldn't be too loud for most people.
My refrigerated when it starts making it's weird noise thing. Don't do this all the time.

- Anything loud: vacuum cleaners, hair dryers, most movie theaters, train whistles (probably the loudest thing I've ever heard)
- Kids shouting/screaming/crying/whining
- People laughing too loud
- Jumbled, chaotic voices at parties, in crowds, etc
- Squeaky bus brakes
- Any annoying repetitive sound; beeping, whirring, etc
- People yelling up the stairs
- Startling noises; balloons popping, people dropping heavy things, any unexpected noise behind me
- People knocking on the front door
- Parrots screaming (especially macaws)
- Radios that are too loud or too quiet
- Barking dogs
- Utensils scraping on plates
- Rice in a tin can/maracas
- Metal striking metal
- Heavy things being dragged across a hardwood floor

I have a very high level of auditory sensitivity and a lot of small, weird things set me off easily. Every once in a while as a passing consideration, I wonder what it must be like to be deaf. On bad days, it doesn't seem like all that terrible an idea.

Whistling...I HATE whistling. It's like nails against a chalkboard.

Also, high pitched sounds like squealing breaks, babies or children screaming, smoke alarms. Especially if it's sudden.

The worst at the moment, is when my dog barks inside, it's very loud and hurts my ears so much.
Vacuums as well, dishes clanging together, people shouting on radio advertisements, loud music, loud television, loud everything except rain.

To be honest, any noise I haven't chosen to listen to is incredibly difficult, especially loud or human noises. I'm ok with animal noises, I prefer them to human by a long way but I am very intolerant of human noises. I'm still terrified of fire alarms, as a child I would freakout hugely and would get myself very very upset in anticipation of fire alarms. I also used to get very frightened that someone might sneeze as that terrified me. I hate car horns. Airplane toilets mean I have to put my hands over my ears, as a child I would always cover my ears when I had to flush the toilet.
