Really, I cringe when I see a sign by the side of the road that says: "Kitty's 4 Sale"

I also get very irritated when reading a publication and detect a typo. I can only think of the number of people it took to write, re-write, EDIT, SPELLCHECK, and EDIT SOME MORE, only to let it slip by!! !!

Hehe, yes! :D

It's worse when it's a revised edition ...

CockneyRebel: I'd never considered that you might be a grammar nerd, considering your proclivity for capitalizing improper nouns. (Not trying to offend, but...it's been bothering me.)

Yes, I am a huge grammar stickler, which puts me in high demand for editing my peers' papers. It even seems to run in the family--my great-great-aunt once apparantly got a letter from her nephew who was fighting in WWII. She sent it back to him with all the spelling and grammatical errors corrected in red ink.

Just out of curiosity... any idea where the Proclivity for capitalizing Improper Nouns comes from? It reminds me of A.A.Milne's writing style (the Winnie the Pooh series), or Victorian political cartoons.

I can tone it down a little, if you'd like.
