my sunglasses are polarised ones, so there is no shift in colour or viewing angle at the edges, which annoys me to no end when i'm wearing normal shades.

- oh, how i can remember those days when i used to pick up a new stronger pair of glasses - people must have thought, i was drunk the way i kept on bumping into things - walking down a set stairs was always horror complete, especially with smaller lenses that left a gap between lower edge and cheek and all the rooms seemed to cave in on me. It always took me more than a week to adjust.

The anxiety to not hear my baby cry or to hear the fire alarm or to hear the neighbours knock the door down, because their house was on fire, or or or !
It took me literally years to come to terms with the fact that i had to sleep without earplugs, and i think the lack of sleep i suffered during this time was a big contributor to the fact that my epilepsy resurfaced after being under control for 25 years, so i wish somehow to have taken your more cautious approach not to become "dependent" on them for a restful sleep.
Now i am so pumped full with antiepileptic drugs ( one makes me sleepy and the other one causes disrupted sleep )
that i really do not need the earplugs anymore,
