I like Thomas the Tank Engine up to the age of ten. I liked to hold onto my childhood interests. I used to carry around a little toy of Thomas and with one of the toys I scratched the face off. I even refused to make eye contact with my toy trains. J/K.

Kind of related but I used to have a thing for Ringo Starr too and just loved it when he was the narrator on the show.

I vaguely recall the books. The series came out when I was 15, and I didn't know it existed until now.

Regarding the OP, I certainly do not say that AS caused any of my interests, although it certainly shaped how I pursue those interests. After all, intense, focused, repetitive interests are part of the diagnostic criteria and it is hard to argue otherwise.

While people tend to relate things that have nothing to do with their autism back to their autism, it's just as easy to berate people far too much for relating anything at all to their autism, especially those things that actually are related to their autism. It's not all or nothing, it doesn't need to be all or nothing, and ultimately, most of these statements really have no impact on you.
