Are you for robot employees at stores?

Yes, but I am kind of afraid that there could end up being a robot uprising. Then the robots would come after the people, and it'd be not good. 8%  8%  [ 8 ]

No, I actually like shopping, despite the brain itchiness of dealing with useless employees. THE IIITTTCCCH! (Invader Zim themed option) 7%  7%  [ 7 ]

It's not just sock puppets; there are many paid-for reviews as well. I was fooled by that for a time because there would be a genuine variety of language in the reviews, not the corporate-sock-puppet style. The tell I've learned is to check if the product is a pretty recent listing and has received a large number of very positive reviews in the early month(s) of its being listed. I wouldn't have known to watch for this if a few honorable people hadn't defiantly put reviews about their being approached with the offer to receive payment for a good review. It has made it harder for me to make decisions while online shopping, for sure.

When I was still trying to post reviews on one store, only the positive ones got accepted, and the others were trashed without even a suggestion as to why they got flagged so that they could be re-submitted.

Wow, that's even worse. What store was that?

Canadian Tire Corp, a national hardware chain of franchises. There are a few negative reviews on their site to make it look genuine, but not enough.

Yeah, I never trust reviews of a company posted on its own website. They have complete control in that situation.

My wife doesn't understand why grocery shopping stresses me out so much. When grocery pickup became popular a while back it was a life changing thing for me.

Yes kerbside pickup is much better for me. The staff do all the work of finding the items, bagging them, putting them in the trunk, no extra charge, so what is there not to like about it? I slightly miss the control of choosing my own fresh food - I used to rather enjoy weighing every bag of potatoes to see which had the highest weight (they have to make them slightly over the stated weight, and as potatoes are relatively heavy, the error in the buyer's favour can be quite large), getting the best sell-by dates, and choosing the freshest, most undamaged and unblemished vegetables, but I've been surprised how reasonable the staff's choices have been. I don't have to risk catching the virus, I don't have to put up with the horrible lighting or the crowds, no more dodging mobility scooters, screaming kids, stupid muzak, checkout lines, or jerks who stand right in my way as if I didn't exist. Civilised living at last :-)

I enjoy shopping, it just depends on the store. If the lights are too bright, the music to loud, the staff bothersome and rude: I leave or I tolerant it. There are some stores that I love going to because they don’t bother me as much.

I tend to pace around a store (always clothing). Not really sure why other than to see what I like or if I missed something.

Online shopping is the best shopping! 8)

A mall I used to visit had a big discount store at one end with almost nobody in it. I could tell why from a hundred meters away. They had economized on the lighting, and it was almost as bad a street lights. It wasn't pleasant to be there, and someone shopping for clothes would not have been able to judge the colours.

I rarely have a problem with store employees.

The maddening ones are the other customers.

I love shopping. The only thing that spoils it are people with their noisy kids.

Sigh. Stores at night. Yes. I wear sunglasses sometimes , and before when then store hadn’t upgraded to led lights , it would give me migraines.... now. Sometimes the lights are too brilliant to. Endure at night. Even now.
Do. Not like lines or the people , people talk loud , much noise , and I don’t think this is merely a personal issue .
Lights crowds noise . all make it a unfriendly experience . Physically

I hate shopping with a burning passion. I guess I can say I'm lucky to have never set foot in a Walmart in my life.

I hate using the self-service tills in supermarkets because they're always doing weird things. You're just scanning your items then carefully placing them into the packing area, and the machine keeps saying "help is coming" or "unexpected item in bag" (even though you've scanned it). When using them, you can't be too slow or too quick, and if you do need assistance sometimes there's no assistants in sight so you stand there helplessly waiting so you can continue. Then I get worried that when the machine says about the unexpected item in the bag even though it's been scanned correctly that I might get accused of stealing if an alarm goes off as I'm walking out of the store, and then I'll be shown up in front of everyone.
No, I much rather go to a human. I don't think a machine could really replace human intellect. The machine only does what it is programmed to do and is unable to problem-solve.
