Tell me about it. Female consumerism and vanity is probably responsible for global warming and environmental degradation. I know you aren't supposed to say things like that though.

Especially since industrialization and excessive use of fossil fuels is actually at fault.

I think Verdandi was being sarcastic there and doing the opposite of agreeing with you, but just in case I'm wrong about that, I would like to express a certain indignation at your comment. Men can be silly, greedy, vain creatures just as much a women can. And considering that women still generally get paid less than men for doing the same exact jobs (in the cases they can get the same exact jobs), it is incredibly statistically improbable that WOMEN's consumerism is the cause of global warming.

Silly boy, you forgot to do your research.

So was I, Bluto is notorious for making comments like that so I was just casually cashing in on the stereotype credits.

I forgot to bold the part I bolded in this reply. I was replying to that. I wasn't trying to be sarcastic, I was trying to say, "you shouldn't say that because it isn't true. This is actually what's happening." Although my answer was oversimplified.

I have no ill will toward cyberdad, and I am glad he was being sarcastic, even though it means yet again I took something literally.

Sorry got to ease up on using sarcasm. You ladies are quite formidable, I'd hate to be an unwitting misogynist blundering in here brimming with confirmation bias.

When I primary want to socialize but just too nervous for small talk or when I'm in depressing mood and I found my autism to be the problem of my mood.

Between the ages of 21 and 23. Now I just can't be f****d.
I have one friend that I see once or twice a month and I have a few more friends I see once every blue moon and I'm contented by that.
I get to say more meaningful stuff to them online anyway.

I must add I value my online friends more than those offline. The in depth discussions we have about our issues really make it easier to go through those tough times.

I had a lot of friends when I was little they were the kids of my parent's friends. My parents would have to force me to play with them. But from middle school to 10th grade I was pretty much a loner. My guidence councler suggested to me it would be better for me to have friends so I started to hang out with these guys from my art class. What a mistake that was they were a bunch of punks who wanted to be trouble makers but were to cowardly to do or say anything. They talked me into doing a lot of crap they were to scared to do. So I nolonger to seek to belong to any group it is not worth the aggravattion.

I think males are more responsible for global warming though. Males are more flatulent than females.

It was obvious that I was different from others all my life & I had lots of problems from an extremly early age because I was not like others. I never wanted to fit-in & have a normal social life because I just wanted people to leave me alone. i kind of do want a social life now but I do not want a normal one

I started wanting a normal social life around the time that the first Austin Powers movie came out in 1997. I had it in my mind that I wasn't gong to be a loner just because I was different than most people my age, just because I liked the 60s. I was 22 at the time.

I think it was a puberty thing with me too. I could never understand why something I'd always taken for granted as a young child was suddenly becoming so tricky. I think young kids just get on with playing together without all the social niceties and the hype. My early "social life" was mostly one-on-one anyway....I really didn't notice anything wrong, as long as it wasn't a large group. Then suddenly I felt as if I could fail, and I found myself wandering round at school break times feeling stupid and self-conscious because I couldn't engage anybody. So by then I certainly wanted a normal social life. I don't recall being lonely as a kid. I went through the usual girl-hating phase, but when that wore off, everything was different....it never went back to the original non-sexist thing we had, not at all. Kids are good feminists as well as good socialites.

Not that I'd go along with the word normal here. I want a social life that satisfies my social needs without severely compromising my individual needs. If I ever get that, I'll be able to tell you if it's normal or not.

My social life as a young child was very similar, I had a few close friends, and we didn't get into the stuff the other kids did, and that was cool. I don't know if I ever really wanted a "normal" social life, whatever that means. I just don't like the things most people do. I've never been a party person, don't care much for the drinking, bar, club scene, etc., so I eventually learned to accept the limitations that placed on me.

I went through the girl hating phase too, but it lasted a lot longer with me than most. I used to think most girls were nothing but lying, dictatorial, manipulative, little b******, who only cared about what they wanted and the heck with what the man thinks. It took me many years to realize that not all girls were like that.

The kind of social activities I've found enjoyable are doing things with a ham radio or computer club, or science fiction fan club or convention. Being around a bunch of geeks of various types is actually quite enjoyable for me.

I think your girl-hating phase must have been later than mine. I hated girls because they were soppy and always playing with dolls and stuff, not like us interesting boys who played with plastic guns and good rough games like British Bulldog. The teachers told us we'd feel like that for a while and then we'd get interested in each other again......and we did. After that, I got hurt a lot in relationships, but never really concluded that they were a bunch of s**ts.
