I can easily make most calculations in my head, and enjoy doing them. I'm not sure if this is an Aspie trait but I know that it's due to the fact that my parents always pushed me to calculate stuff in my head, whereas the school system didn't really do that and most people my age rely on calculators.

I am good at both language and math (I speak seven languages with varying fluency). This is seen as weird because a lot of people think that you can only really be good at either. But I see the rules and logic in both language and math.
I'm pretty sure those are all traits that you can attribute to AS. From what you say, you're probably more stereotypically aspie than many people on this site, and I mean that in the most positive way.

*giggles*

Foiled by stereotypes once more.

I like doing sports? I guess that's not really something unique, but it seems to be unusual for Aspies. I am also not bad at talking to people I barely know. As long as the conversation somehow opens up, I can usually keep it going very well, even in small talk. Again, it's not really something unique besides Asperger's.

Well, I thought about it, seems like I'm a walking stereotype. Drat.

(Thanks for the compliment though)

But crap. I just thought of something. So that makes my statement invalid. But then if that doesn't count, then it is valid.

Geez, I hate paradoxes.

Apparently, I'm not allowed to attribute my genius level ability in math and physics to autism.

-I get mad if the light is too dim. I have to have a bright light on in my room when it's dark enough, because I cannot stand dim lights or darkness (unless I'm going to bed).

-I love bedtime (I heard a lot of Aspies don't like going to bed for some reason, but I love going to bed. It's my only escape from real life, because I can watch films in bed then go to sleep).

-I LOVE people touching my head, like ''playing'' with my hair. The other day I was lying in bed, and my head was tingling, as though I had the urge to have someone come and massage my head. I love my back being massaged too. Oh yeah!! !

-The only reason why I don't like wearing certain clothes is because certain materials make me ''feel sick'' by looking at them and knowing I'm wearing it. Nothing to do with how it feels on the skin.

I can be more emotional than logical.

I'm pretty sensitive to other people's emotions (coming from voice, body language, context etc...).

I never really minded being touched.

I'm the same. I usually come up with unique ways of explaining things that people tend to like. If someone doesn't understand one explanation I can try explaining from a different angle.

Why not? Alot of spectrumites are good at physics and math.

This thread is about unique personality traits that you have other than stereotypical aspie traits.

I'm quiet, thoughtful, and gentle.

These are more attributed to introversion than AS.

I never interrupt people. I don't give monologues at all. I am more a listener than a speaker, even in a one-to-one conversation, and if the other person is shy and not a good speaker either, it's usually 50 percent speaking for both of us. But if I'm speaking to someone more talkative than me (which most are), it's normally me speaking 20-30 percent. It's just that normally on WP I've read that a lot of Aspies say they interrupt and speak in monologue most the time, and ask endless questions, which I do not. In fact, asking questions is a very difficult thing to do for me. (See thread http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt162141.html).

I really do not have any that I can think. I have very stereotypical autistic symptoms...and I have all of them that I am aware of to some extent at least. I really cannot think of one thing that I do that a person with autism generally would not do because of autism.

Ask intelligent questions according to my very NT doctor than again perhaps not he is a little essentric , :P so much so I often stump him and he has to refer to his medical journals, I'm not smart though I suspect from what I can gather ask questions many Nt's don't bother asking.
