My grandmother and I have always been on good terms, and still are. She would never had told my parents. (She has issues with them) I had no choice about the joint therapy sessions, and when I asked my parents why I was going, they said, "You don`t like him, do you? We are going to help with some of your issues." That doesn`t exactly help self-esteem, does it? I am having no success in finding a new psychologist. Again, I say Illinois is not exactly aspie friendly. Does anyone have any suggestions for finding a new psychologist/ possible occupational therapist aide?

Just the usual ways of finding them. If that doesn't work then I don't know. Surely there's more than one business operating out there that can help you? If there genuinely isn't you don't have much of an option except to stick with the one you've got. In this case I would recommend you get into contact with him yourself. Have a one on one conversation over the phone perhaps, or go to the office or whatever yourself. Before you start talking though, make sure you check that he won't tell your parents what you say. Ethically they can't go behind your back like that (unless you give the impression that you're going to harm yourself or others in the near future). You would have to use that to get him 'on your side', so to speak. What I would try for is to get him to convince your parents to let you see him alone, but also insist that you see someone else in that company because you think he's biased towards your parents and you can't trust him.

I think you're going to need a professional on your side if you want to convince your parents to let you go alone (I assume they're paying for the service?).
