I do not like it when people assume that a self-diagnosis is worthless, or that the lack of a professional one means the person must not have it.
Not all of us have access to the money it would take to visit enough doctors to get a diagnosis. I saw a lot of shrinks as a kid, but that was in the '80s and early '90s when Asperger's diagnoses were far less common. The only time I see a doctor nowadays is if something is broken, or I'm bleeding and can't make it stop.
