ive gotten to close for comfort with those things... given my circumstances the potential for one to attempt to nibble off me in my lifetime is quite realistic... its already happened to a friend of mine... thankfully it didn't sink any teeth into him...

Holy cows, i remember you talking about your surfing passion.. your fear of sharks can become quite realistic indeed :o

I am afraid of a lot of things. First of all vomiting and being around vomit. I fear getting the stomach flu or any other sickness that involves vomiting. I am also terrified of any bug that stings especially bees and wasps. I don't like spiders. The weirdest one is gum. It started when I started getting nightmares about gum growing uncontrollably in my mouth and ripping teeth out. I constantly have these nightmares so that is how I developed that phobia. I have a fear of any family member dying and living on the streets. I hate thinking about being poor or losing everything we own. I also fear the government spying on me but I love their technology at the same time. I just don't like that technology being used against me. I wouldn't stand on a ladder as well because I believe I would fall and either seriously injure myself or worse. I also don't like and actually fear the fact that soon my dad will retire and we won't have any money and will be poor. Sometimes I fear aliens as well but like the government I am fascinated by their technology.

Some foods:

soy products (except for soy sauce) -- I am seriously terrified to eat tofu or soybeans or meat substitutes.
certain sauces, based on their visual appearance

I know that those seem like stupid things to be afraid of, but I am.

When I was younger, I used to be scared of a lot of other things, like the police, clowns, and cats, but I'm not scared of them anymore.

Heights and public speaking.

I remember getting on a children's roller coaster about ten years ago to try to impress a boyfriend. I started crying and screaming uncontrollably and they had to stop the ride early.

I was in Toastmasters for several years to try to get over the public speaking fear.. I learned the elements of a good speech, but I did not get over the fear and never gave a speech. However, I recently took a very small dose of a prescription anti-anxiety drug before I went to go speak before a group of officials about special education and public school issues, and I did great.

There are quite a few things that I am extremely scared of - heights, needles, wasps, bees (as allergic to the sting), fireworks, thunder and lightning, dentists, enclosed spaces, dying, being alone

The loss of an opportunity to get a nice job, the loss of my appartment because I'm unable to find a new employer and ultimately the loss of my whole future. All of this because of my diagnosis. That's what I'm really scared of.

I'm afraid of death.

And I'm afraid of hurting other living creatures.

That's pretty much it.

My list of what I'm very scared of:

Balloons (I hate the sound when they 'pop'. It hurts my ears)
Clowns (They look scary)
Spiders
Heights
Bugs (mostly wasps and mosquitos)
Doing something that will get me into trouble
Needles
Doctors and dentists
Crowds
Being abandoned
Arguments/brawls/fights

That's pretty much it.

Pretty much my only fear is of ghosts just because they can be invisible and bite me or something and I can't even see where they are, much less protect myself. I'm really not afraid of anything else.
