For Drakilor; well, there you go. There's your answer.

To ooh_choc; Yuk! I know that because we are the way we are, it would NEVER work. EVER. So son't try it.

I don't think that is ture. As long as you have a birth rate with a mutation evoultion can still happen.
There has been mutaion in humans in just the past 100 years(including European). I heard that 100 years ago people were shorter and were more muscluar.

If you go back a few more hundred years, people were *noticeably* shorter. I'm a five foot five female, and when I walk through castle doorways, the top of the door is usually only a few inches above my head. So given that doorways are built with a good bit of clearance room, that says that the usual height for a man was no more than five foot three or so, and women would be less still. King Henry VIII was just six feet tall, and he stood a head taller than anyone else in the room and was thought to be a giant of a man.

that would require aspies actually having sex.

That's what I was getting at, in a jokey sort of way. I'm not saying Aspies aren't interested in having relationships and raising children, but the whole "interpersonal skills" issue makes reproduction considerably more difficult, which means we're unlikely to achieve genetic dominance any time soon. Intelligent, thoughtful and morally developed we may be, but evolution is a numbers game. Hence my "evolutionary cul-de-sac" comment - we're almost a blueprint for a new type of human, but for a small oversight regarding the dissemination of the genes...

Well, I'm the first male aspie in my family who hasn't become a father at the age of 35. But my NT brother is 30 and has neither. There's no reason to worry.

I have relatives in the US, whereof probably many aspies. I guess my uncle in Florida, mentioned in another thread, is also an aspie and he's got two children, although he's divorced now.

When I said "recent," I meant something on the order of ten thousand years. In the history of life on earth, that's pretty recent.
