I can relate to the OP---I'm like this too. Is this suppose to be an autistic thing? I have been like this for as long as I can remember.

I know inanimate objects are neither sentient, sapient, self-aware, nor conscious, but possessions I have had for a while tend to receive more attachment than people. I often, "save," things from being thrown away if they remind me of some good events, but I think that the attachment is nothing more than preserving the memories of the past.
