There's a fine line between bravery and stupidity. I guess that means I'm very smart because I'd be calling hiding and calling 911 instead of telling a bunch of thugs who could kill me that I'm trying to sleep. 8O

I’ve slowly learned never to tell anyone anything like I’m trying to sleep. It’ll just motivate them to make even more noise, to make the point that I don’t get to tell them what to do and to dare me to try to stop them.

Lostonearth,

Exactly right. Show me a person with no fear and I'll show you one without any common sense.

Yeah, that's a lesson I either picked up on before I even started school or understood instinctively, probably due to my anxiousness. Never let anyone know if something bothers me, it'll just set me up as a target.

Of course there is no way I would ever confront anyone who was armed or a gang of thugs or just one thug at all either. I would hide if I could, leave if I could, I would not engage them or get involved otherwise.

I relate to this too.

Danger, anything new, things I can't control, they all scare me in different ways.

Couldn't agree more!

Also, never tell your plans ahead of time. If there is an unforeseen snag and the plans fall through, people will say, "What happened?" It would have been painful to list the whole string of snafus and problems.
