She is not an aspie, she is just really into spirituality and natural health, etc.

When you live where she does, you don't turn any money or property over to them, but you also cannot own any of the land privately. So, you can build a house there, with a 99 year lease, but you will never own the land underneath it. So, you basically rent from the community. Since they have a spiritual/meditative retreat center, they earn money by hosting corporate employees and individuals.

My Aunt and Uncle are very environmentally conscious people and they are currently building a housing development that will be eco-friendly and will have mixed income people living there with affordable housing. They will have different sizes and styles of housing, with little personal land, but a big community park in the middle, which will force people to socialize with their neighbors. That would definitely not be a place I would want to live, only b/c I obviously do not like socializing.

I think it would be great to build "Smart Houses," where one can have absolute control of their environment within their house. You can control the lighting in every room, the temperature. You could build a community center, so if one feels like socializing, there is a place to do it. Some of us Aspies are quite social, we just rub people the wrong way unintentionally. Could you imagine a bunch of Aspies in a room together? We could unintentionally insult eachother the whole time, and most of us wouldn't care!

1152-864
1280-1024

the 800-600 is the most common

PNG or TIFF would be preferable if the image has large regions of solid color.

I would have said 1024x768 was more common now than 800x600, thats what I am running at the moment only because I use a clone screen to output games to my plasma TV when um playing them and it doesn't like anything other than 1024x768 :( I would prefer 1280x1024. Is this for your own machene or to be distributed? If it is for your own machene your own screen resolution would be best if you are publishing it for people to download or something offer several options they arn't really that big a file unless you have some 15MB hosting or something if that is the case I recomend getting another there are great free web hosts that offer much more I can PM you the one I use if you like just PM me.

Of course depending on what you wan't it for half of this post will be irrelivant to you but there it is anyway, also not I didn't read the entire thread I kinda skimmed it lol.

Thanks for the specs everyone but does it matter how big it is as in inches as well? Do I make it the same size as my 17 inch screen?

What I normally do is start the image in the print size I want in the end, with the resolution pumped right up. Sometimes to 400 ppi. This creates a very large image, but it is easier to resize down. The reason I pump up the ppi is because my art is mainly for hard print. And I have been able to turn a 30meg paintshop pro image into a 40k jpg or tiff for web site. I put one of them that was downsized on my desktop and stretched it and it was very pixelated. I had probably changed resolution to something like 30 ppi to make it small enough. So I want to avoid them pixelating when they are used for wallpaper images.

what do you use to create your art? I will probably want them in raw TIFF (PSD or XCF would also be fine) format so I can use the full resolution. I will be able to put the logo on the images. I'd rather you give me an image with 2560 x 1600 resolution or a 1920 x 1080 resolution (but the higher would be better). I will resize the images for all the possible resolutions so don't try to do that.

Ok, it looks like anyone who was going to add much has done so or would have by now.

Alex, what do you think of this all?

Duncvis, you sent me a message of interest, what more do you think of this your self? any new Ideas? I may take you up on that offer, mostly I was just waiting to see what everyone else had to say first before I responded farther.

Hi folks

sorry it's taken me a while to reply.

Two things - I wanted to help get this rolling by providing a space for us to upload/edit writing, art etc and exchange ideas. Also, a means of arranging small scale fundraising initially, with a focus on helping people on the spectrum to improve their lot as individuals, as well as raising awareness as chamoisee mentioned on another thread, through information etc to download/distribute and organizing stuff.

As Alex mentioned, we recently acquired the domain wrongplanet.org. I am currently in the process of setting this up as a sister site to .net primarily for us to do this. When this is up and running (shortly with any luck) I will announce it here!

Meanwhile, as ElfMan and aspergian_mutant know, I have set up a free forum for WrongPlanet members (its pretty basic though  ) for brainstorming and further discussion of this - so if you want to be involved with the wrongplanet.org project, come and join! (Edit: The temp forum has gone. The proper site is now open - http://www.wrongplanet.org/ )

Dunc :D

Hi guys, I'm volunteering my amateur (but, I've been told, not too shabby), graphics skills for web or cafepress or whatever. I'd be thrilled to work with anyone who has good ideas.

How would you like to design a wallpaper with WrongPlanet theme that Alex can give away here?

And anyone else that wants to aswell. I think it would be good to have a range of them that we can choose from. I would love to have wallpapers in the WrongPlant theme designed by WrongPlanet members!!

:P

ElfMan

I am here :) just been busy job hunting, found one finely, also working on that webpage book we talked about, when I am done with it it will be a ruff draft and actual html coders will have to finish the work, and add things as well as needed, I will do my best, but it all takes time, I as well have a life my friends. I have not forgotten and I do check in on wrongplanet now and then to keep updated.

CONGRATULATIONS with the job!!

I don't mean to make you feel rushed. I live by the concept that the turtle won the race and got to enjoy the journey too.

oh I don't mean your being slow either. Like I said to Dunc, make sure you enjoy it and don't feel like you need it done yesterday.

I was getting worried about you sorry. Just wanted to know you were ok.
