I started right on time, about 11-12 months but at 18 months I ceased all speech. But at age 3 I started talking again, in complete sentences, even if short. This is where my current memories start, except for a few fragments. From 3 on, I have a good biographic memory.

I didn't start saying complete sentences until I was 7 years of age. Before that it was just one or two words at a time. It was because I got a dog that helped me come far out of autism. Art also helps me connect to the world.
I was two and a half when I started speaking. And then fluent within two weeks.
Knowing me I probably wasn't in the mood to bother until I was sure I could do it properly...

According to my mum I never babbled, and had a few single words by the age of 2 but I rarely used them. Apparently I used to let my brother speak for me.
When I was "quite old" (she didnt specify age) I suddenly started speaking in full sentences but only to narrate what I was doing: "I'm cutting my meat. Now I'm putting it on the fork and taking it to my mouth. Next I'll have some peas." That kind of thing. I remember doing this but I don't remember how old I was. I *think* it was before I started school but I don't really know.
Clearly I hadn't figured out the primary purpose of talking was to communicate with others! After a few months of this, I apparently shut up again and went back to being an unusually quiet child but I did speak a bit. Which pretty much where I am as an adult - I am quiet but I speak a bit.

I have some very early memories in which I talked; In the earliest of which I was two years old and understood a lot of what I was told and responded appropriately. Also when I was four years old I started telling everyone how trains worked and was able to identify dozens of trucks.
I was more a walker than a talker. I was walking at 9 months, but was talking much later. Part of the reason my folks sent me to boarding school was that by the time I was due to start kindergarten no one (even my dad on occasions) had a clue what I was saying most of the time.

According to my parents, I didn't talk until I was four, but I started speaking in full sentences. They go on to say once I started talking, I didn't shut up... which is odd because I am a relatively quiet individual...
My mother says that my first words were, "Can I have that, please?" followed a week later by "I'm not doing that."

According to my mother I started speaking around one in full sentences. I skipped baby talk entirely and asked my uncle to get me a drink of water. I started out very formal and a bit pedantic though. It took me years to speak more informally. I started walking early too and was getting into everything until my mom taught me to read. When I was able to do that and start investigating things in books it was a huge relief. My mom was always finding me on top of things or in trees looking at things. I didn't sleep much either so I gave her my share of grey hairs.
I'm not sure how old I was when I said my first word but I know I could have proper conversations by the time I was about one year old.
