Do the "Normals" seem cold and inhuman to you?

Hehe but thats the fun of hanging out with NTs.. to see how long it takes for you to make them slip and start telling the truth

My friends tell me they can never seem to lie to me or keep secrets they just start spilling the beans after a bit of conversing and never understand why.

"White Rabbit" - Jefferson Airplane
Rather than ignoring them, I tried to defend myself and tried to make them see how they are acting, but they thought I was in the wrong trying to make myself look like a 'victim' as if I was trying to manipulate everyone! I finally admitted that alot of the problems they have with me I cannot help and are due to my aspergers syndrome, it is very hard for me to admit this, and rather than appreciate the courage it took to say it, they would either accuse me of making it up, exaggerating, or lying. Or that it should be easy to 'get over'. It was not unlike mocking a wheelchair person and saying to him "Whats your problem? Stop your whining and walk already"
I am truely confused and appauled at the cruel hearts that some humans can have. And sometimes the more you defend yourself, the worse they get. Some people you can simply not reason with at all.
On the other side of the coin, my best friends are probably all NTs. Atleast they seem pretty normal and cool to me. Some of them maybe they aren't all 'normal' but I believe everybody has their own strengths and flaws. Everyone's got their own problems. Some people I have met and friends I have made treat me like I am 'beyond human', like if I am nicer and more interesting than most people they know, and I know of some friends when I haven't been online for ages, they terribly miss me! lol
So its pretty interesting that for some people I am a freak of nature, and for others I am an example of how humans should be, apparantely. They treat me like that. But I really can not tell if any of them have AS or something else, its hard to tell, but I would say the majority of people I know are NTs. So you can't say that NTs are more judging or not, because there are alot of reasonable NTs as well.
I've noticed that alot of you seem to think that NTs are the malicious bullies, and aspies are the misunderstood victims that NTs can't understand. I disagree with the whole lot of you; you should all read what solidess has to say.

Do you think that's surprising? Most NTs do not understand us. They become the bullies, often unintentionally. I'm sure not all NTs are like that, but when a lot of them are, how do you expect us not to take arms and be extremely defensive/critical?
As great as Solidess' words are, they will not convince the mass to change their view. Only when society as a whole rethinks how it deals with autistics/aspies (much like how dark-skinned people did) then will most of the autistic community drop their weapons...

hey all.
brah i see what you are saying but if you watched star trek youll know that people are like vulcans not overly emotional but logical. it is also a matter of the fact that they wish to defend themselves from harm. may i please remind you there is no such thing as normal and that our condition is a label from physcologists that think someone has to be the right height weight eye colour think in the same way. we are not of those sheep. we are proud people with a system of thinking different to theres. i mean i can be very cold at times to stop people getting past the barrier so to speak so they cannot hurt me.

How bout we try a more effective weapon? As treating them the way they treat us won't work being a minority.
A perfect weapon is TRUTH, do something positive for others, do something wonderful, show a way of connecting beyond words.
Lets use our strengths, for we have many amongst us, and actually make things happen!
Yes its very hard, I personally have no friends, but I do have musicians I stay connected with, I have my study, I have music, and I have this here keyboard with which to write.
NT in my mind only refers to someone not on the autistic spectrum, it doesn't mean ignorant, it doesn't mean sheep-like, it doesn't mean hateful, these are all responses of misunderstanding, these are all human reactions.
So, let us try breach the misunderstanding gap through expression, and hard work, instead of making the gap larger by calling them all the same and ignoring any attempts for anyone to understand.
For if I can care about someone who isn't autistic, can't I therefore have the chance of understanding them? My emotions are concrete yes, this means I can't really relate with them very well, I can't understand the subtleties..
But they will all understand when I scream and sing, they will get it when you write.
Comeon what are our brains for if we're not going to use them!?
