WE DONT NEED A CURE!

I agree. They can start working on a cure AFTER they start supporting families with mid to lower functioning ASD. I would much rather see the millions of dollars spent in support services rather than chasing a cure (look into the payroll of Autism Speaks). My son is 20, has mid functioning ASD and has never been to a therapist or had any support outside of his school ISP due to the expense.

that sucks bro and damn straight they need to start supporting families.
when i was younger i used to think i would throw away an autistic child if i had one.
but when i realised how different i was to the other kids around me and how much more i enjoy spending time with other autistics (and how i suddenly turn into a better more helpful person around them) i have realised that i would love my autistic child alot more then an NT one (high or low functioning) as evident through the fact that i HATE my NT brother and my AS brother is my best mate.
i have high functioning myself and im not sure what mid functioning autistics are like but know this. your son appreciates everything you have every done for him even if he doesnt say it, although i dont know your son and he may be very thankful so dont be offended that i assumed he wasnt communicative. im not sure if what i have typed is coherent and ive forgoten what i said at the start because i havent been sleeping well. but other then that.
cure cancer first, or MS or blindness or deffness SOMETHING THAT KILLS and support those with AS.
as a matter of fact ive decided to look into setting up my own AS charity that simply gives money to those whose children have low/mid functioning AS. but as i was saying when i speak of a cure i dont only mean pharmasuticles, they may turn to surgary or perhaps even more extreme revenues and this frieghtens me. im going to stop here because im not even concentrating on the keyboard anymore and i have began a conversation with my AS freind next to me.

Sorry pal, speak for yourself. I'd take a cure anyday :D
I'd fight for your freedom not to take it, though.

good man.
and by any day i hope you mean any day after an appropriate testing period when all possible side effects have been ironed out :P
but i would take medication just never a cure.
(also you dont need a cure you've survived this long without on. if ide said want a cure then your correction would have been valid but i said need and we dont need a cure as we can survive without one XD)
