Yes, I am a loner and always have been. Occasionally, I need to see others, though.

It took me a long time to get the friends I have now. And I only have 2 that I see on a regular basis outside of school. Well, 1 really.
My dad was in the car and he said "As far as I know, you have one friend." That got me depressed for some time.

Other than that, everywhere else, I'm a loner. If I didn't have school, I'd be alone. This whole school year in homeroom, I sat by myself while everyone around me talked about sports and crap. I wouldn't mind it so much if there weren't people I know surrounding me. Like, I could lock myself in my room for hours and enjoy it, and I do that a lot. But to be alone among people makes me feel upset.

Even though I'm married with four kids, I'm still a loner. I try my best to be one, anyway. :)

Mostly I am a loner and I do like some social interaction such as dinner with a friend on the weekend or sometimes go out on a date (just lately and haven't dated in ages and ages).

BM- before marriage, I'd go to the theatre, restaurant, museum, etc. alone and I seemed fine with it. But I can go it the otherway and this works too.

I guess I'm "self-contained" as my mother once remarked, and I recall my dad saying to others' that " he keeps to himself."

Life of an introvert? IDK. I do find this very rare. Taxi Driver?

Strangely, the more time I'm immersed into something, as being social or solitaire, that something seems to grow inside and I get 'used' to that.

Asocial?

That doesn't sound too bad (it's pretty much what I've done since leaving high school, actually. That's a little over a decade).

I probably am. I don't have any friends offline, and I don't go out much except for linedancing with my mum. or the occasional dinner with dad.

I don't even feel sad because of this or lonely either and most of the time I want to be alone. However, I will get depressed for a short time if someone ridicules me for not having a social life.

I have some people who are friendly to me and I can become friends with them but I don't pursue friendship with them even though I could, because I'd rather be alone.

I guess you could call me an extreme introvert.

I posted something similar. Even though I am an extreme introvert, I get annoyed when my friend makes fun of my lack of social life.

Yes but I have my family, husband, and son. I also go to my autism groups. I haven't gone to one of them in three months. I am also looking into play groups now and joined one of them. I think my kid is old enough for them now. I would be seeing other parents then.

I'd say so, yes. I'm a one-woman show. But every now and then, I get lonely and need a friend or two to hang out with.

Yep, I'm what you'd call a loner, too. I always end up on the fringes of every group of people/conversation I join anyway, so I just prefer to stay alone.

I have a very small circle of close friends, I can count them on one hand. Somehow they knew I was an aspie before I suspected or was even diagnosed. But we get along well. I have more friends online than I've ever had in real life.

For the most part though, I prefer to be alone. Sometimes I'll find myself making excuses for why I couldn't come out to the bar. Or why I didn't want to go to the Chargers game. Because I'd rather be sequestered at home, playing World of Warcraft, or pursuing my special interests.

Yes....i'm always alone, in my room. I don't like being around the voices of others much :( Not yet, anyways.

I will
