hanyo, i will reply to your post tomorrow as it is 1:30am and i have been up since 7am and i am exceptionally tired, and i can not be bothered staying awake because my electric blanket is on and i wish to go to sleep. i hope this thread has not ballooned out to 30 pages by the time i wake up or else my reply to you will be outdated. i identify with your time in adolescent units to a degree, but i must learn more before i comment.

Asperger's may be less noticeable in Latin cultures because they place so much more emphasis on the family than U.S. or Northern European cultures. A Mexican friend with A.S. told me once that his culture was great for people with A.S, as he rarely needed to interact outside of the family. Families accept people regardless of their quirks, whereas loser social networks may not.

I think AS is merely a range on a chart that everybody is on, like a frequency chart.

There are a lot of people who would never test + for AS, but have some of the pattern.

Thus to have AS or not may not be as binary 1 or 0 or "pregant or not pregnant".

Calling it a syndrome is probably not correct.

Here is a chart of what I am thinking about, to the left is "normal" or what we might call normal. To the right, AS and .... beyond?
