My RATIONAL fear of bees
The only animal (aside from Homo Sapiens) that I've ever feared was spiders, particularly Phidippus audax. This was because my "darling" sister threw a toy in the pool with me that was apparently acting as the shelter for a swarm of them, and as an attempt to escape from drowning, they went to the nearest exit; which happened to be in my direction. They weren't trying to harm me, but I was 8 years old and to me it seemed like they were an army of vicious beasts charging at their target (me). I simultaneously loathed and feared them for awhile, then I just loathed them, and now they don't bother me...too much. I got over it by desensitizing myself to them. I actually think they're somewhat cute now. (I don't want to traumatize anyone, so if you're interested in what they look like, click the bold text.)
