I hate it! I'm religious, so that has a lot to do with it, but I did attempt to "trick or treat" a few times as a teenager, and that didn't go very well. One of those times, the boy down the block sprayed shaving cream in my eyes and sucker punched me in the face when I couldn't see anything. He left me laying on some strangers front lawn, and none of the other kids who saw it happen came to help me. Another time, I dressed up for school (middle school) but I was super oblivious to not only my sensory issues (I didn't know about AS) and the size of the desks, so I went to school dressed as a giant M&M! Of course, it was uncomfortable and bulky, drew more attention to me than I would have liked, and didn't fit in the desks. All of the other girls had cute/sexy little costumes on (not too sexy for school), and I was walking around like an over sized piece of candy! It's a little funny in retrospect, but not funny enough to have made it worth it in any way.

When I was a kid I liked halloween cuz of free candy, but at the same time, everybody always knew it was me no matter what costume I wore, and I always hoped they wouldn't... so I didn't like that part of it. Now, I just don't give a s**t. And the same goes for every other holiday. It's just another 24 hours.

Actually, I take that back. 4/20 is nice, and sometimes I'll drink on st. patrick's day if I get invited to, but that's about it.

I find Halloween fun. Usually, I see people in school dressed up in costumes. Some are really creative. I wanted to make a costume but I'm too lazy. For trick or treating, I just stay home and sometimes look out the window to see if anyone is near by. Not much people come to my house so I usually take most of candy for myself!

Halloween has never really bothered me. As a christian I was taught that it celebrates Satan and his evil followers, but I don't really care about that because I think that is like saying someone is a satanist for liking the color black or red, or liking jack o' lanterns.

The thing is, Halloween reminds me of human nature, people (like their costumes) are varied but they all make you think of the same thing. And I find it ironic that people portray something that most people are in real life (monsters).
If anything, it's just a reminder that humans are dark, unpleasant creatures who, in the end, all act the same.

I like it when I was a child. Loved it.

As an adult, I can't stand it. I don't understand how adults like it.

I loved it when I was little and I could get candy. I don't care either way for it now. I usually just end up handing out candy to the children. I think I'll like it more if I ever have children of my own and I can take them out trick or treating.

A couple of times when I lived in the Houston area, I set a bag of candy off the back of my pickup so that kids could take what they wanted without bothering me.

A couple of years ago, the stepson one of the city employees borrowed a safety harness for use while climbing and used that to hang himself from the front porch by a table he had set up with candy for the kids to help themselves. He then fastened a noose around his neck to make it look like he was hanging from the noose.

Some of the kids were too scared to approach the table. When one did approach the table, he'd wait until the kid was looking at the candy to decide what they wanted and then he'd reach out and tap them on the shoulder.

When I would be home by myself (what's new) I'd climb up on the roof with a bag of candy, leaving the house dark. I'd wait for the motion sensor light to come on so I could see them but they couldn't see me, then I'd do an Elvis Presley 'mmBOO' and rain candy down on them. It can be amusing to see NT lads jump about 3 feet in the air

I like Halloween, maybe it is the change in season I like.
I have not had any direct participation for a long time now.
Some horror movies are quite annoying but sometimes they are funny like Re-Animator (1985)

Like most western holdays it's a Christian holday based on a pagan festival.

Actually it's not even a Christian holiday, christians tend to see it as the "devil's holiday". Most christians (as far as i know) don't celebrate, don't give out candy, nothing on halloween.

I personally (even though I'm christian) think that it doesn't matter, there's a difference between openly worshipping satan, and just having plain fun lol.

Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday. I love dressing up and going to parties. I also like drinking alcohol, and talking too loud. I will be in New Orleans for Halloween, and I'm so looking forward to a big celebration.
