I communicate better with cats than dogs. I still like both, though.

I love both and to me it depends on what kind of day I'm having. I find that I attract cats more than dogs. I'm not a very dominant person so dogs don't usually listen to me as well as say, my mum. I love them both though so it wavers depending on the day. I'm also now allergic to both of them.

I like both cats and dogs. Currently, though, I have two kitties.

I've met a few people in the past who hate cats (yes, they used that word). Not that they would kick them or anything, but pretty darn close. I've also noticed some sort of correlation between such people and propensity to detest people on the ASD spectrum. It is likely something to do with the perception of being "selfish" and not showing genuine affection. Whatever!! !

I've always preferred dogs, the pack mentality and rules are intriguing and the lack of a litter box is appealing. I rescued a kitten once and raised him like a dog, which worked surprisingly well.

I have found that a lot of people (at least NTs) who hate cats tend to have control issues. They prefer dogs because they can dominate over them and be the "alpha" and resent cats because they tend to be more free spirited and have a mind of their own. And yes, I have noticed that a lot of cat haters tend to be men. Not all, but a lot of them, at least in my personal experience. I still don't understand the stigma that cats are anti-social or aloof because every cat that I have ever known has shown a lot of love towards their owners and also get extremely happy when they come home. My cats greet us at the door when we come home and basically follow us all over the house. I believe many people say that because they get mad when they cannot command a cat to sit and stay. Cats are, trainable, though., just not in the same way as dogs.

I think cats have been depicted in an extremely negative light all throughout history and that has molded peoples' opinions of them in a bad way. Look at all of the old cartoon shows or animated movies that show cats as the villans. Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes. American Tail. I can't think of a single episode of Looney Tunes that portrays a cat in a good light. There's some other examples but my mind is a bit blank at the moment. But I have noticed that dogs are portrayed as heroes while cats as the slinking plotting villans, at least in the past.

Cats are moody and unappreciative of anything you give to them. Then, they pretend to warm up when they want food, and go back to ignoring you. Dogs are the polar opposite, always being friendly, wanting to help out and glad you've come home.

I don't understand how people can be fans of cats. I mean, I don't think they should be exterminated or anything like that, but they're pretty self-serving in the same way Raccoons are - and don't give a s**t, all the same.

Why would I care for an animal that doesn't care about me? Just let them roam free in the wild. That's what I say.

(Obviously a Dog person).

I love many animals. I find them interesting and cute. I would rather have a pet dog than cat, but I love cats just as much.
Dogs are just a bit more fun I think.
When I was a kid, I had a pet turtle, but he ran away T.T I cried so hard that day.
I love bearded dragons, but my parents don't want one since they eat mice when they get older.
I guess when I no longer live with my parents, I won't get a pet though. I don't like the responsibility.
But when I find animals outside, like caterpillars, I look up their species online lol

Cats for me. Grew up with them and never been without one. I find their arrogance rather amusing but they all have different personalities. I don't dislike dogs but I find some of them intimidating and they seem to sense fear in me. I was chased by one at work last year, much to everyone's amusement, but it turned out to be just playing but I didn't know that. What annoyed me was the owner didn't even say sorry. Yep, I am a cat person.

I really love cats.
I grew up with one, my tomcat Sylvester, and he was my best friend until he passed away when I was 18 - and he 16.
We've had different cats since then and I really liked all of them. Currently a female called Kiki.

I prefer tomcats, though. For some reason I get along better with them.
When I'm done with my studies, I want to have a cat again.

I don't like most dogs. There are nicer ones and some I dislike but I'd never consider to get one as a pet. I prefer a more independent pet.

I find most dogs unpredictable and therefore I don't trust them. Or they annoy the hell out of me with continuous yapping for no apparent reason.

Oh no! That's so sad. :(

There will always be exceptions, but I have found in my own mammalian pets that males can often be easier to deal with for the owners, they seem to be more evenly tempered than females.
There are exceptions both ways though, so no need to bite my head off if anyone have the kindest female mammal or the grumpiest male in the world.

I like em both, but I have a slight preference for dogs over cats--with one caveat: I can't stand super-clingy dogs or ones that bark too much. I used to try to ride our pet cat like a horse when I was a toddler. That didn't go over so well. :?

When I was in my teens, I remember more than one (bullying) occasion where I'd tell the other kid about my two cats at home, then he would say "You do??! Are you cruel to it? Do you torture it??!" Like, WTF??! ! Those imbeciles were clearly invoking stereotypes about somebody who "doesn't seem all there" being cruel to animals. Like the whole "how the serial killer got his start" myth - and somehow I as the nonverbally challenged Aspie with difficulty relating to others, must be a serial killer in the making who tortures animals. Duh!! !

i love cats. I had the best cat in the world until it ran away/disappeared. It was the most affectionate cat ive ever owned. :( my other cat is still awesome too thou.

I also have a few dogs but i dont really mess with them ever. there to loud/dirty/slobbery for me. I enjoy the cleanliness about cats and how they can pretty much take care of themselves.
