Not much. It leeches calcium from the body.

Yes, way too much. I've only been awake about 2 hours and am on my 4th mug already. 8O

Home made cups of coffee don't affect me much alertness wise, but they make me feel a little bloated and have a diuretic effect. I usually have 1-2 cups a day at work.

Cafe made coffee gives me the jitters though. It becomes almost unbearable whenever I'm already anxious to begin with.

I drink two to four cups of coffee a day. I added too much half and half to my cup this morning and killed the yummy factor. :?

I had a really bad intolerance to caffiene as a kid. Just eating a quarter of a small easter egg made me really sick once! It's got better as I got older and in the past year I have been drinking coffee. It has to be a 'latte' with half of it made up of rice milk. It also has to be full of sugar! Until recently I was drinking regular coffee and I found that initially it made me feel REALLY good and happy (I suffer depression). After a while though I started to notice that I was shaking if I hadn't had my coffee and I was getting more anxious and irritable. It also makes my Tourettes worse. I have now switched to decaff but I've been having bad problems with my mental health recently so apart from the intense shaking, I've noticed little difference :(

Decaffeinated only if I can, other wise I will try not to have it all. It gives me the jitters. I like the smell of coffee.

On occasion I will drink coffee/cappuccino, but only if it is mocha and/or hazelnut flavored. I only drink tea if I am sick or craving sugar, and on those occasions I tend to prefer it cold and black. I do drink soda sometimes, but only certain types (typically, cherry flavored), and I drink that less than once a month. I primarily drink (cold/iced) water and cranberry juice (at least one 64 oz. bottle a month).

Yes, and far too much at that.

I've only ever taken a sip of it once and I've never been able to see the appeal of it.

I have only tried coffee once when I was a kid. I took one sip of my mother's brew and was left wondering why anyone would think the s**t tasted good. Since caffeine (even decaf coffee and tea often still have low levels of caffeine) gives me migraines that last for at least three days, I tend to avoid anything that contains it.

With enough social coercion I learned to appreciate coffee. I never liked it until many years of working with people and going with them to the kitchen to get coffee (I would actually make tea instead). At work gatherings etc. they would always ask me to get me a coffee. It has that similar vibe to people that smoke. They are addicted to it (in a way, because of caffeine) and they always go in groups and chit chat when getting their fix. Even if it is for a small period of time. It seems that people that smoke make more acquaintances or friends than people that don't smoke because they smoke together, in groups. I speculate that the same thing happens with people getting their coffee, even if it is just in the morning, it does require some social interaction and chit chat.

No. It is too bitter and I require huge ammounts of sugar. I prefer chocolate milk or fruit juices (mango, peach, apple and strawberry juice are my favorite ones).

I am curious because it helps me feel less depressed but it makes me more anxious. I think I am going to try to quit it.

Thoughts :?:

I drink one caffeinated coffee in the morning to get me going, and another decaffeinated in the afternoon/evening just 'cos I like it. I occasionally drink tea, either caffeinated or decaffeinated but it would be instead of the coffee not in addition to.

I am caffeine sensitive, I've got more used to it but it used to give me palpitations, and if I don't have coffee for a day or two I get awful headaches.
