I chose Above average because Way above average is difficult to estimate. However, my total vocabulary comes from five languages if it counts in the sense the OP intended.

How did you know I was going to be the next? 8O

I chose way above average, but I could be wrong and only be above average at this point.

i guess my problem, having a better vocabulary than average, is my need to use words that more correctly describe that of which i am speaking.

if something seems more 'clandestine' than 'hidden,' well what is a boy to do?

You do as I do, and say "clandestine!"

I sometimes pretend not to know the correct word so I don't sound like a jerk.

Mine tests out as pretty high, and I get my share of blank looks when I use an obscure but exquisitely precise word in conversation...

I chose way above average purely based on the fact that when I speak the majority of people don't understand what I am saying! (they don't know long words...) It's frustrating though because although my verbal ability is very high, my other abilities are below average so people get really frustrated with me. So as Monk would probably say 'It's a gift and a curse'.

I think my vocabulary scares people with how extensive it is. I took an achievement test when I was 13 years old and my vocabulary skills were at the post-college level. Assuming that I've learned more words in the past six years, I imagine that my vocabulary far exceeds that of most people.

Good vocabulary is a part of my job (translator), so I make sure I maintain it in good shape :)

I learn new words every day... the last new word I encountered was "propaedeutics".

I got a perfect score on the new GRE verbal section, which is supposed to be pretty jaw-droppingly rare.

People think I use big words to sound smart, but I'm really just reaching for precision.

These are the same people who get on me for using "ain't." I love "ain't," though.

I always seem to have to pare back my language for others to understand me. Which somewhat limits potential growth in my vocabulary.

I can understand Shakespeare. Does that not tell you anything?

Scored in the 93rd percentile on the verbal section of the GRE (had a low math score, however). Not that it impresses anyone in even the least bit...
