hmmm  curved walls would be good for acoustics in general, but lousy for listening to reproduced music unless omnidirectional speakers were used.

I'd love to be a clinical psychologist living in a small self-sufficient town in the middle of nowhere where everybody knew and was friendly with everybody else. I'd also like to have my four closest friends as next door neighbours. I could be happy for the rest of my life provided the town contained a bookshop, a swimming pool, and put the schools far from my house so I didn't have to deal with the kids interrupting my peace and quiet every day.

When I was little I wanted to live in a log cabin by myself in the mountains, but I failed to take into account the fact that I A. hate the cold, and mountains are typically quite cold, and B. would have to provide my own food, or find a job, the latter being inconvenient if I lived in the middle of nowhere, and the former being impossible due to the fact that I am not only lazy and uncoordinated, I love animals too much to ever kill one.

The not rich requirement throws me a little. I don't want to be rich rich, but I sure would like to have enough for once in my life, to maintain the simple enough lifestyle that I'd prefer. A car I don't have to worry about breaking down, a house that doesn't have termites or need big repairs, enough space in my home for my hobbies, my husband's hobbies, and our pets. Being able to buy just my basic clothing without putting it on a credit card. Bills and expenses that don't keep going up in spite of being told there's no inflation. Better health insurance and dental coverage without having to sell my soul to pay the premiums. Maybe enough to actually take a trip somewhere now and then. I haven't had a real vacation in ages. When my parents retired they were able to afford to travel a little. Not me.

But barring more money, I think I'd like to just simplify my life a little more, unload some clutter, and other than that I'm good! I get to be home all the time if I want now, do my creative things, and be with my pets. It doesn't get much better than that.

Living in a small apartment near the university, teaching others, learning, engaging in research and being tenured.

Hopefully I can make a part of this come true...

I'd like to live in a city near a park and a library, in a small apartment by myself that I'd decorated and furnishes all by myself. I'd like to have a steady enjoyable job, afternoons to dedicate to my interests, and the occasional day out in the city taking pictures, writing in the park, or walking my dog, going to the library, etc. If a hobby shop was close, even better. I want to be able to cook the newest recipe created for weeks on end without others complaining. I'd like to have my apartment organized how I want. Organized chaos basically. I know where everything is, nobody moves things, and it will be a mess the majority of the time.

I'd like to have learned how to deal with things like making/going to doctor's appointments, going to the bank, anything where I have to talk and ask for things without panicking. That's my main issue.

The more impossible part:
If possible and my job allows I'd like to have a weird sleeping schedule and sleep whenever the hell I like. On weekends I'd like to own a cabin in a remote place were I could just relax for a while. I'd also like to take trips to places as often as I can afford it. But well planned trips, with no pressure from others.

A quiet place, with an extensive library, or access to an extensive library, of reading material. Daily interaction with my daughter, whom I believe to share the same mental condition that I do, and working in an envoirn where my skills of interest are constantly used and depended upon, perhaps where I would be allowed to telecommute daily.

Lots of warm herbal tea, and lots of intelligent pontification about whatever approaches the mind.

But the reading, thats most important.

Thats ideal.

Perhaps Im am too old, and too set in my ways to be really able to define something wildly or adventurously exciting.

I'd like to live in a spacious tree house with glass walls and moss carpets, spending my days in my own private, wood-panelled library that holds all the books and journals I need for my research...

I would live there with my dog and I would very much appreciate to own a pony. It would be great if my few friends would live somewhere in the neighbourhood.

I already have the best lifestyle I can imagine. I'm not rich, but not poor. I live in a beautiful part of the world. I don't envy anyone, I don't have to work, unless I want to - although I do some work as a photographer. Books are very important to me, living fairly simply, not being distracted by the modern crap in the world. My wife is of a similar mental state to me. Happy(ish) :D

I just realized I most likely didn't describe my dream house--only where I would live, etc.

Of course, there would be a pasture and barn for the horses, but also a garden I can walk through, with a house with a big library, big windows, and large-looking rooms.

I forgot my other dream goal, the one where I'd be working on stuff like nanotechnology or high energy physics or bio sciences.

I think the scientific research would be pretty close to paradise on Earth for me.

There are a lot of parallels here.

I'm curious as to what parallels you notice.

It's a secret.

But you'll see.

You'll all see…
