I do this too. I tend to speak softly, and people often get annoyed with me for having to ask me to repeat myself. So part of my scripting deals with remembering to 'speak up' and speak clearly. I also prepare body language like looking at someones face when I talk to them, or standing in a certain way to appear confident, or not standing too close or too far away from others. I still avoid direct eye contact though, too much emotional information there, with the potential to overwhelm me.
