You could try changing the wording on your site so It doesn't look as if your trying to capitalize, people tend to get offended if it looks like your site is an advertisement. Maybe get rid of "Buy" throughout the article and just put it all down at the bottom as a footnote.
Best of luck to you!
Best of luck to you!
I think people would also turn that around the other way, saying "oh you make it look like you're not trying to earn money but look at (yadda yadda example here)".
Plain and simple OP, you can't please everyone, nor should you try to. Do what makes you happy and if it earns you money, then fantastic, we should all be so lucky.
There's a saying that many have said and it applies to everything; "haters gonna hate", so don't worry about what others say about how you make money or what you choose to do.
It really is in the presentation. Haters are going to hate because something has put them off. It's all fine and dandy for people to say "Do what you want" and "What makes you happy" but she was coming here wondering why people where questioning her intentions not just for the sympathy that everyone dumped on her. She even claimed it wasn't for the money, so it must be something in the presentation that is easy to fix.

That's not the point I was making, the point was; no matter what the OP does, people are going to have issues with some aspect of it, and since it's not for the money, there is no real loss that needs to be addressed. The why is quite clear: You can't please everyone, appealing presentation or not.

You just sound like a self advocate doing some real important work, teaching and encouraging others.
I had an idea to make a video about my progress with a project. It's got nothing to do with autism though. Well, it's about my special interest Skylanders.
I get told I'm just making excuses and wanting people to feel sorry for me. No, I just write stuff because it's on my mind and for some reason it helps people understand their child, mother, father, partner, friend etc better who has autism and ADHD.

That's a good example of another double standard that people apply. For some reason people like to think that because someone has a condition that is potentially debilitating, they can't talk about it for any reason at all without having some "ulterior motive that plays in their favor". Total crap in reality but that's what people like to say. I suspect it has to do with an old stereotype somewhere, but who knows, that's how it always starts it seems like, though.

Fair point - I just slapped that on there because my site is being developed and I needed some text so the site could be found by the right people ie. people with AS etc. That piece of text is okay most places on it's own, but I guess it's a bit much on my site above the links which pretty much say the same thing.
Thanks for the advice
