I used to not want to use any bathroom apart from one of the ones in my house. Of course, I've learnt that I, well, have to, but only for urinating in. Never anything else. And although I am female, which means I don't use urinals as described earlier, I absolutely hate when anyone is directly outside the stall, since I just can't "go" as such. Or even in my own home, when my parents ask me questions while I'm in there. That's probably the most uncomfortable situation they could put me in. But back to the point, yes. Not because of the smell, but because the mechanics of each toilet are different, and that scares me somehow.

The other day at McDonald's, because men's toilet was full, I used the disabled toilet, which doesn't get used often and hence is clean most of the time. Then only a few minutes (really only two or three minutes) after I got in there, someone tried to open the locked door, but obviously it wouldn't open because it's occupied and locked. Then that woman started to talk "oh, it's locked, are you ok in there?" I ignored it because I found it intrusive of her to talk to someone in the toilet. She kept asking "are you ok? blah, blah, blah..." It wasn't as if I were in there for even 10 minutes, which would still be normal. It made me very uncomfortable and angry. There was absolutely no reason to suspect anything unusual was happening there. In the end I snapped and told her she was being very intrusive and rude. She then shut up and left me alone. I wonder if she actually did it to harass me because she didn't like it when she found the toilet being used when she wanted to use it.

I find it very intrusive when anyone (except my family at home asking me if I want coffee with them or not, or anything like that) talks to me when I'm in the toilet, because it's a very private moment. Such things make it very uncomfortable for me to use public toilets.

I think a few people were talking about not wanting to use the urinals in the men's bathroom,

+1 to that; if there are others in the restroom and all the stalls are full, and the urinals are empty, I will hold it until one of the stalls opens up. Even if it's starting to feel like a severe emergency.

So is anyone hypothesizing that not wanting to use a urinal in public is a social phobia / Aspie trait? Not everything can be a symptom, but I can certainly relate to this.

Some toilet bowls are too shallow for me so that when you sit down, you find your genitalia contacts the cold wet ceramic of the bowl where every other strangers piss and s**t has contacted, gross, and its not like you can then wash your old fella in the sink in case somebody else comes in and sees you.

I personally would like to have suit akin to what Boba Fett wears. I would love to wear such a thing to protect me from germs, but also to insulted me in a social situation. I know this would seem weird to most, but I kind like the idea.

I use that one every time. Or better yet, the private "Family Restroom".
