4 months to read a form and make a decision, do they know with autism the length of wait is worse than a decision

My situation is far more complex and they had to contact my GP. I was put into the support group with no face to face assessment.

Do you ever contact them or let them get back to you. There is a option is form for them to contact another person rather than me, I feel that would help as any news can be done in a cool Carm way

I will keep updated but is it true they assess you the minute you stand up to walk in room

Hi mate. Its partially true, and yes you would need to travel to a centre they allocate you but don't worry, the assessment with them is mainly straightforward and they don't try and make you feel uncomfortable- on purpose. You are allowed someone with you and if its disability living allowance you were on and now the assessment is for whether you can claim esa by face to face assessment if your carer or job advisor hasn't filled the forms out on your behalf or they have and you still have to go then all I can say is don't stress and be yourself, this should determine pretty much anything and could seeing as half of them don't have the expertise to manage disabled claimants. Good luck.

I've just been talked into claiming PIP by my new advocate. She says she is going to be with me every step of the way though, including going to Atos meetings. So hopefully it won't be too stressful. Still not looking forward to the process though.
